Those Three Chapter 24

Abbilynn came through the door. Hearing the loud screams and Peg screaming and crying. Abbilynn went to the noise and saw Lacy punching Peg halfway in her bedroom and half in the hallway. Peg’s face already seemed bruised up.

“What the hell is going on in here?!” Abbilynn grabs Lacy and pulled her off Peg. “Stop!”

“NO! LET ME AT HER!” Lacy yelled still angry.

“LACY! Calm down! Quit it!” Abbilynn says to her daughter. Trying to get her to stop fighting with Peg.

“All I did was come in here and told her the truth.” Peg touched her hurt face and stood up.

“You both tell me what is going on?” Abbilynn asked.

“I am calling the cops on this stupid bitch for hurting me!” Peg pulled out her cellphone and started dialing 911.

“Peg, please. Don’t do it. I will have a talk with her.” Abbilynn didn’t want the police coming over from the fight that went on. Peg hangs up the phone.

“That little brat needs to be controlled.” Peg walks off. Abbilynn sighs.

“Lacy, what is it now?”

“Robert…” Lacy started to cry.

“Did the two of you have a fight? You know just because you fight with Robert, doesn’t mean you take it out on Peg.”

“No! Peg showed me a screenshot of some text messages of back and forth of her and Robert! They were talking dirty together.” Lacy cried.

“What? That don’t sound like Robert. He always acted like he didn’t like Peg.” Abbilynn was surprised and confused on what she had heard.

“That’s what I thought.”

“Maybe you should try asking Robert before jumping to conclusions? I mean Peg has known to lie before.”

Lacy wipes her tears. “I guess I could…” Lacy went back to her bedroom and shut the door. Abbilynn went to look for Peg, but she had already left.

“I don’t understand why she comes here to start with Lacy and then leaves all the time?” Abbilynn thought to herself. Lacy sat down on her bed and picked up her phone.

“Robert wouldn’t cheat on me. He wouldn’t I trust him. That has to be fake.” Lacy thought to herself. “Why would he want her anyways? I’m prettier.” Lacy looked at her text messages with Robert. She took a deep breath and swallowed hard. Lacy began to text Robert.

Lacy’s Text: Robert, call me. We need to talk.

Lacy frowned at her phone. “He’s probably not going to answer me back until later.” Lacy thinks to herself. Lacy’s phone began to ring. Lacy noticed it was Robert calling her. She felt nervous as she answered it.

“Lacy, what do you want right now?” Robert asks.

“I…I wanted to…uhh…” Lacy felt nervous to ask him.

“Spit it out, I need to get off here soon. So, make it quick.”

“Umm… Peg was here earlier. She showed me…. It was…” Lacy wasn’t even sure how to ask him and was nervous.

“What did Peg show you?” Robert asks confused with Lacy.

“Text messages that the two of you sent together. You were talking dirty with her.” Lacy admits. She felt her heart beating fast and started to feel scared.

“WHAT?! Lacy, I didn’t send no dirty texts to Peg! I don’t even know her damn number!” Robert rudely responds. He was angry. “

“But, it looked so real…” Lacy felt like she was going to cry but held it in.

“You really wanna believe that?! It’s a lie!”

“Robert! I really want to believe that you aren’t doing something! And honestly how can I now with the fact that you claim you’re so busy now! You keep saying you’re putting more hours in but how do I know that’s real?!” Lacy started to let her feelings and frustrations out.

“So now you want to accuse me of cheating on you? You know what? Fuck you!” Robert hung the phone up. Lacy sat there. She pulled the phone away from her ear and stared at her phone.

“Asshole.” She glares at her phone throws it.

Bryan and Max were together hanging out. Bryan had invited Max over to play video games.

“You really breaking up with Alana?” Bryan asked Max.

“Who told you that?” Max asked Bryan.

“Well, I have my resources.”

“Madison told you? I thought she broke up with you?” Max asks confused.

“I mean it’s a guess. She’s pregnant right? I think all of us knows that know. Craig, Katie, Madison. Shit spreads like a wildfire man. Anything Lacy says goes back to Robert, and I end up hearing the news. And when Katie knows it, she tells Craig.”

“I am not breaking up with Alana! I just need a break to clear my mind about things. I can’t just deal with the fact right now.” Max paused the video game with his controller. “I can’t deal with the idea of having a baby. I can’t even figure out how and why this is happening now? She never got pregnant before. Why now?” Max stares at Bryan.

“Who knows, I feel like a lot of shit don’t make sense anymore.”

“You mean like, why Madison broke up with you when the two of you were dating for like 2 years.” Max laughed a little.

“Madison and I broke up because we kept fighting. And after we fought, I kept trying to fuck her. She didn’t like it.” Bryan responds.

“Fuck her? Dude, you two shouldn’t be hopping in bed so soon. What are you like 13?” Max asked and laughed. “You two didn’t do that, did you?”

“Of course not.” Bryan sat the controller down and touched the side of his head.

“Oh! Did you touch her breasts yet?! I love grabbing Alana’s tits.”

“Man, if you really do, then why aren’t you two dating each other?” Bryan asked.

“I told you!” Max glared at Bryan.

“Yeah, yeah. You want to break up because you got her pregnant. If you were really worried about that, why didn’t you use a condom then?” Bryan asks.

“Don’t remind me…” Max mumbles.

Lacy had gotten out of bed and out of her bedroom. She went to go to Robert’s apartment. She wanted to make sure he wasn’t there and with Peg. She had a spare key to his apartment, so she was sure that she could get in and catch him. After taking a bit of a walk, she made it to the apartment building. Stopping to finally catch her breath at the door.

“What are you doing?” a familiar voice asked. Lacy turned around and saw Stephanie. She had opened the door to her apartment that was across from Robert’s.

“Umm…” Lacy wasn’t sure how to respond. “I am just checking on Robert’s apartment!” Lacy lies and continued to unlock the door. She opens the door and goes into the apartment. Shutting the door behind her.

“I will now know if Peg is here with him. Maybe…” Lacy thought to herself. She began to search the apartment for Peg and Robert but didn’t even find anyone there. “Maybe they’re meeting at a hotel?” Lacy wondered. She sat down on the bed. “Maybe I am wrong and it was just a lie to get us to fight? Peg usually likes doing that. Why am I suddenly believing her now?” Lacy started to get nosy. She felt like she couldn’t help herself.

She opened his dresser and looked for anything hidden in his dresser. Which she didn’t find nothing but clothes. She checked the closets, and everything seemed normal. She went to the bathroom and couldn’t even find a trace of anything that Robert could be hiding something from her. She decided to look under his bed. She found a box under the bed and decided to take it out. She sits the box on the bed and took a deep breath.

“You can do this.” Lacy thought to herself. She opened the box and discovers a small box in it. “This… This can’t be a…” Lacy picked it up. The small box and opened it. It was exactly what she thought it was. An engagement ring. She was completely surprised at what she saw. She couldn’t even figure out why Robert would have this. None of them discussed marriage to each other. In fact, she always mentioned that she didn’t care for marriage. What was more of a surprise to her was the fact that Robert’s parents were divorced and he never spoke about marriage to her.

“W-Wait a minute… Does Robert want to marry me?” Lacy asked still surprised. “This has to be wrong!” Lacy closes the small box and sits it back into the other box. She noticed an envelope in the box next to the small box. She picked it up and opened it. She began pulling out some money.

From seeing all of this, Lacy began to panic and wasn’t sure what to do or think. How could she now face Robert? Was he keeping this a surprise from her? She quickly puts the money back into the envelope and throws it back into the box. Next thing she does is quickly slide that box back under the bed. Wanting to forget what she had seen. What she saw. Her heart was beating fast. Her face was red. She felt like she was going to explode or something from know this.

Lacy quickly gets out of the apartment. She looks at Stephanie’s. She quickly bangs on her door. Stephanie answers.

“Is something the matter?” Stephanie asked.

“Can I come in?” Lacy asks.

“Sure.” Stephanie lets Lacy in. When Lacy comes in, she noticed Ronnie was sitting on the sofa. “Is something the matter?” Stephanie asked closing the door. “I seen you going in Robert’s apartment.

“I need privacy!” Lacy yanks Stephanie with her to the bedroom. When they got in there, Lacy shuts the door.

“What is all this about?” Stephanie asks confused. She wasn’t sure what had gotten into Lacy lately.
