Those Three Chapter 13
Alana Leclerc was just a 16-year-old girl with a problem. She was having her boyfriend's baby. Her boyfriend Max Offield. He was around her age. She wasn't exactly sure how to break the news to him that she was carrying his child. She still never got a chance to tell him. Everytime she tried to have courage to tell him Max would end up running off as he had to do something at home to help out his family. After that, Alana would lose the courage again.
"This really is getting out of control. I need to tell him soon that I am pregnant." Alana thought to herself and sighed. "But it isn't easy just coming out telling him that." Alana looked down. She was sitting on her bed with her purse in her lap. She was waiting for Max to come get her. The two of them were supposed to hang out together for a bit. It was actually a good time for her to try to tell him the news. But she felt nervous to.
"Alana, Max is here to pick you up!" A maid said as she knocked on Alana's door. Alana got up off the bed and walked out the door. She made her way to the front of the large home and out the front door.
"Was you still getting ready?" Max asked her. She shook her head.
"Let's go." Alana says and puts her purse on her arm.
Robert was in his apartment and was cleaning up some of the mess that was piling up in there. As he was cleaning, he had a lot on his mind. Thinking about things and even the past.
"In the past, Lacy was close to the both of us. Ronnie and I. We all three got along good most of the time. Sure there was times when Ronnie and I would get jealous of each other because we both wanted Lacy... But there were times we got along a lot too."
Robert sits the broom against the wall. Letting it go. The floor was swept and there wasn't much left to clean. Robert decided to just stop cleaning and went to his bed to sit down on it.
"Lacy was pregnant by Ronnie and lost it. But I ended up stealing her. I remember having such a ridiculous bet we shouldn't of even been doing. Crazy kids is what we were."
There was a knock at the door. Robert heard it and went to go answer the door. When he opened the door, he saw Lacy standing there in front of him.
"Can I come in?" She asks. Robert nods and lets her in. He shuts the door as she came into the apartment.
"Robert... I talked to Stephanie recently."
"You did? Why?" Robert asks staring at her confused.
"She didn't say anything mean. In fact, we been getting along great to be honest. Since we started talking we just seem to get along. I don't know how to explain it. She likes Ronnie a lot but Ronnie is still hooked on me."
"Ronnie should just forget you." Robert brings Lacy close to him. "Because you're mine."
"That's true. I am yours. I belong to you. The moment I met you I felt something you know? Then I got so fucked up with my emotions and wasn't sure what I wanted or who I liked. I was a stupid kid. After that bastard touched me I wasn't in my right mind. I wish I never did what I did when I was younger!" Lacy held onto Robert tighter.
"Everything is in the past now."
"I know that..." Lacy let's go of Robert and looks down. "I wish I never slept with Ronnie. He wouldn't be obessed with me. I am a pathethic woman to be honest. I fucking hate it." Lacy admits sounding upset with herself.
"Screw Ronnie. He should've gave you up the day that we started to date. I thought he didn't care if we were dating but it bothered him. I don't understand why he cares so much."
"Robert." Lacy touches his face. "I am a cold woman. After I slept with Ronnie and you, I just dump Ronnie like he's nothing and want you. All because I had a dream. Telling myself I needed to stop. It sure talked to me. Sure I finally got my head out of the clouds and realized I loved you. But I hurt Ronnie. Hell, I hurt the two of you when I was with you both. You know when I was with Craig for a bit. The two of us kissed you know."
"I am aware of that."
"I am a terrible woman. You still love me? Even if I slept with your brother? Even if I kissed Craig before? Even if I was never a virgin when you first touched me?" Lacy asks. Robert was confused with her.
"Lacy, why are you even asking me these dumb questions?" Robert pulled her hand off his face. "First of all, you were hurt from your mom's ex boyfriend. It probably just fucked you up a bit when you were younger is how you ended up sleeping with both Ronnie and I. But you got that figured out and you're with me. Why worry about that shit? And Ronnie whining like a little bitch about it needs to grow up. Hell, I will tell him myself to grow the fuck up if I have to. He can just take his pathetic little crush on you and shove it down the toilet because it's over. You aren't with him."
"How do you know? How do you know that my mom's ex boyfriend really hurt me?" Lacy asks.
"What kind of question is that?! You were upset and didn't want to tell Ronnie and I at first about what he was doing to you or trying to do! Until he forced himself on you! And I know he did!"
Lacy looks down. Robert wasn't even sure what was the matter with her. Why she even came over to talk like this to him. He was confused with her. Really confused. Sure he was thinking about how Ronnie, her, and him used to be close but he wasn't getting why she came over to talk about all this.
"Besides that, you call the man names. You wouldn't do that if he didn't hurt you. You even mentioned before you hate him and cried. Why would you do that then?"
"I only dated your mom to get close to you." Lacy remembered in her head. The words that Steven, her mother's ex boyfriend said to her. The words that sounded like it was straight from a bad guy. Lacy took a deep breath.
"Did you come over here to talk about nosense stuff? Man." Robert went to his kitchen to start cleaning his dishes that was piling up in the sink.
"Can I...Tell you something?" Lacy asked and walked over to Robert.
"What?" Robert asks.
"I always wanted my parents back together. I dreamed of my dad coming back and getting together with my mom. This was when my parents weren't together. My mother and I didn't get along much as I was growing up. I just was always attached to my dad. Missing him. Wanting him to come back. When my mom began dating Steven I was so pissed. I didn't want her to date him. I didn't want her to start dating when I wanted her with my dad."
"I think I know that." Robert was sitting up the dishes in a drying rack to dry when he was finished cleaning them.
"I started to act up. My mom hated it. I did stuff on purpose. I was a stupid kid. At first Steven seemed like an okay guy and I stopped acting up for a bit. I thought maybe he does like my mom and that I shouldn't do stupid stuff and ruin it for them. But I started making simple mistakes and he got mad at me. Started hitting me, then my mom, and my brother sometimes. I started acting up again after that somewhat."
Robert stopped cleaning the dishes and stared at her. "Lacy, you don't have to tell me. I know what that stupid guy did to you. You don't have to tell me more. Or I will go to the prison he's at and kill him if I have to." Lacy brought her hand to her face.
"You're right. I'm sorry. I just been so tired lately and I haven't been thinking straight."
"You getting sick?" Robert asks her. Lacy took her hand off her face.
"I don't know. Can I lay down in your bed?" She asks Robert.
"Sure."
Lacy went to Robert's bed in his room to lay down. "I don't even get myself right now. I feel so weird..." Lacy thought to herself as she laid there.
Alana was nervous as she was on her date with Max. The two of them were eating. They wasn't eating anywhere fancy. Just eating at a simple fast food place. Alana didn't mind, in fact she was craving it when she smelt the scent of the food.
"You been eating a lot lately." Max said staring at Alana. She had ordered herself a lot of food. More than usually she got.
"I...I just been hungry." Alana blushes and started to eat slowly.
"Yeah, I can tell." Max chuckled a little. "You said you wanted to go out and tell me something, now what was it that you wanted to tell?"
Alana stopped eating. She felt her heart began to race. He wanted to know what she wanted to tell him. Alana didn't even know how to tell him. She needed to tell him. She felt too scared to. Alana wasn't even sure why she was so scared to tell him but she was. She felt like there wasn't nothing she could do. She had to tell him now.
"Well... I..." She wasn't even sure how to get the words out of her mouth. How to just tell him without feeling too scared to.
"You know what I keep thinking I want to do?"
"What is that?"
"Well, I keep thinking I should get a job. Craig has a part time job and I think I need to get one. I am getting older and I need one. I am not a little kid anymore."
"Oh, that is true."
"I am sure you don't even to worry about that. Your family is rich. Is your dad giving you the family buisness when you become an adult?" Max asks.
"No. Actually he isn't. Sure he told me that when I become an adult that he will give me enough money and have a home but still... I won't own the business my dad owns."
"Who's going to own it?" Max asked curiously.
"Well, it was originally going to be Tj but he's sick. My dad is giving it to both my brothers. Sure I can be apart if I want but... He's giving it to the both of them."
"Them nutty two? Is he sure they would even know how to run it? Lionel went to jail before and same with Tj." Max was surprised at what he heard from Alana.
"That's true. Lionel has a kid with his girlfriend and I think they're having another one. They have an on and off relationship. They fight a lot. But... They love each other. Tj doesn't have kids and isn't actually in a relationship with anybody."
"Lionel having kids, didn't he have a kid as a teenager? An older teenager or was he an adult screwing a teenager? Either way, having kids so young isn't ideal. I got a lot of things I wanna do before that happens." Hearing those words come out of Max's mouth made Alana feel crushed. She touched her stomach with one hand. She wanted to tell Max. She wanted to tell him about the baby but now she wasn't sure. She knew it was understable for him to feel that way. The two of them were young, but... She wanted to raise the baby together with him. She wasn't sure if he would even like the news if she told him she was pregnant.
"What's the matter Alana?" Max asked noticing her expression. "Are you feeling okay?"
"I..."
"Wait, you wanted to tell me something and we ended up getting side tracked. What was it that you wanted to tell me?" Max asks. Alana got up. "Alana?"
"It's nothing! I hate you!": Alana was crying and ran off.
"W-What?" Max was stunned by Alana's words. He didn't even understand what just happened. Why she was upset. Alana was crying and didn't run too far. She sat on a bench.
"We both are so young! He is right about having kids right now isn't ideal! He has every right if he wanted to do things before he ever thought about having children! But here I am! So stupid I got pregnant by him!" Alana thought to herself. The tears kept running down her face. "I should just give up having a family now with Max! I might as well be a stupid single teenage mom! I shouldn't even be having a baby!"
Alana's phone buzzed. She dried some tears and pulled her phone out of her purse. It was Max. He sent her a text.
Max's Text: Alana, I am sorry. I don't know what I said or did but I am sorry. Are you alright?
Alana was started crying again as she looked at Max's text. "I need to tell him...I have to... He has every right to know. But... it will hurt him" Alana was hurt from Max even though she knew he had every right to feel the way he did. He didn't even know she was pregnant when he told her that. She started writing him a text back and then sent it. "I did it. Now..." Alana used her phone to call home. She needed a ride to come and get her.
Max was sitting there as he read the text that Alana had sent him. He couldn't believe what it said.
Alana's Text: I am sorry. I don't hate you. Max, I really love you. I just... I got hurt from what you said. I'm pregnant. I need some time. Alone time.
"No wonder she got so upset with me... I didn't know... She's having my baby?" Max was surprised about it all and wanted to contact Alana more to find out more information. He sends her another text. Alana reads it in the car as she was on her way home now.
Max's Text: You're pregnant?! I didn't know! You didn't tell me! Alana we need to talk about this!
Alana shuts her phone off and puts it in her purse.
"Not now. I don't wanna talk." Alana thought to herself. Max tried to call Alana but he couldn't get a hold of her since her phone was turned off. He was sent straight to her answering machine. He left messages for her and even texts and just stopped.
Alana didn't even want to look at them or reply. She kept her phone off even when she got home. As soon as she got home, she dressed in her nightgown and laid down in bed.
