It was in the evening. Alana’s family had finished eating dinner. “Tj shouldn’t be doing all that bad stuff!” Cliff yelled at Calluna.
“I tried to get him to stop! He won’t listen to me!” Calluna yelled back at Cliff. Alana heard them arguing. She was walking in the hallway and heard them from their bedroom. They were yelling in their bedroom.
“Dad is fighting with Calluna?” Alana thought to herself. “It’s not my business.” Alana was going to walk straight to her bedroom, but she felt like she couldn’t move. She just stood there. Listening to them.
“Our sons are out of control! You let them go out of control! They already be in trouble with the law! They smoke! They even drink! And hell you haven’t been noticing the other shit they do?!” Cliff yelled at Calluna.
“I think I know about my sons!”
“Why did you let them get out of hand?! Lionel might already be a father! And he impregnated a freaking 14-year-old?! Or is she 15?! Regardless, he’s of age! He can go to jail!”
“She’s his girlfriend! They have an on and off relationship! What do you expected out of me?! I was a single mother raising our sons why your family made you married that slut and had that daughter with her!”
“I divorced her didn’t I?!’
“You shouldn’t have even married her in the first place! You told me you were going to marry me when Tj was born and you didn’t! You let your family control you and you ended up marrying that Cheyanne slut!” Calluna yelled at Cliff. “How do you think that felt?! And then you only came to visit us once in a while. You sent some money to help out but it was rough! I was so depressed.” Calluna starts to cry. “I started to drink! I started to smoke! How was I supposed to cope with everything?!”
“Calluna…” Cliff brought Calluna over to him and hugs her. “I am sorry. I shouldn’t have married Cheyanne like my family wanted me to. I should’ve stayed with you and the kids.”
“Don’t get me wrong! I like your daughter Alana, she isn’t mean… But… I just wish you never left me for so long!” Calluna cries on Cliff.
“I love you.” Cliff says to Calluna and kisses her. She kisses his lips back. Alana peaks into the doorway and seen them both.
“I am glad they aren’t arguing.” Alana thought to herself. Alana walks to her bedroom and shuts the door. “I should call and check on Max.” Alana sits on her bed and picked up her cell phone. She dials the number to Max’s home. Davina picked up the phone.
“Hello?” She asks as she answered the phone.
“Is Max there?” Alana asks.
“Yes, who is this?” Davina asked.
“His girlfriend.” Alana blushes as she tells her.
“I’ll get him. Hold on.” Davina sits the house phone down and went to find Max.
Robert was staring at Lacy. She was laying between him and Ronnie. They all were laying on the bed. Ronnie and Robert were close to Lacy.
“It’s really too early to go to bed.” Ronnie said.
“I don’t think I can stay here for tonight.” Lacy tells them both. She looked at Robert and then Ronnie. “God, I love you both.”
“We should go somewhere soon.” Ronnie suggested.
“Where to? When?” Lacy asks.
“We can go eat somewhere tomorrow, and then go to a couple of stores.” Robert tells them both. Robert held one of Lacy’s hands. Ronnie was playing with Lacy’s hair.
“You both know people might think it’s weird I will be going out with the both of you.”
“Who cares.” Ronnie responds.
“I don’t care.” Robert mumbles.
“Should we even tell our parents? They probably won’t be happy with us.”
“I don’t give a damn.” Robert said to Lacy. He didn’t care if his father didn’t approve. He honestly didn’t care if Lacy’s parents didn’t either. Ronnie felt the same way. He didn’t care what they said either. They both knew they wanted to be with Lacy. They didn’t even care how weird everyone thought they were.
Alana was on the phone with Max. “Is everything alright where you are?” Alana asks Max.
“So far.” Max responded.
“That’s good. How long does that custody thing take?” Alana asks.
“Sometime. It won’t be too long.” Max responds.
“I hope everything goes well for you. Do you want to… um…” Alana began to blush. Her heart began to beat faster. “Would you like to go somewhere soon… on a date?”
“Sure! We can!” Max responds. Alana liked his response. Max had got off the phone with Alana.
“Max, can I speak to you for a minute?” Davina asks Max. He nods. He was already sitting on the sofa and she sat down by him.
“What is it, mom?” Max asked.
“It’s about your aunt and uncle.”
“Uncle? I didn’t know I had one. And my aunt? What about her? I never got to actually meet her. Can I?”
“Well, soon. You see… your uncle is going to start living with us soon.”
“He is?” Max was confused.
“Yes. It seems your aunt wants to move into a smaller home. Her husband recently got laid off and so they needed a cheaper place to go because he’s currently searching for a new job.” Davina tries to explain to Max.
“My dad doesn’t have siblings, so you’re the one with the siblings?” Max asked curiously. She nods.
“I have your aunt. She’s older than me. Her name is ‘Monicia’. She has a daughter that I believe turned 12 recently.”
“She does?” Max asks.
“Yeah, we were going to invite her over to spend a few nights than I found out she was at camp. But… Not anymore. Apparently, she is upset at camp and will be coming home. But since her parents are in the process of moving we will be taking her in. She will be in the bedroom with Sherry for the time being. Her mother will explain everything to her.”
“So I have a 12-year-old cousin?” Max asked.
“Of course.” Davina responds. “You see… I am the middle child in my family. The oldest was Monica. Than me. After me was your uncle. Growing up, I used to be very close to my sister. But… I… I started to date your father and she just started to become distant. I don’t know about all of it. I think it was because our parents. They disapproved of my relationship. They called me the bad child. They started telling me they hated me. It was… depressing. And then I got pregnant with you. They didn’t want nothing to do with me after that… And it wasn’t until recently I was able to contact my sister and brother.”
“I am sorry that all happened to you.” Max looks down. “I feel like I shouldn’t have been born then…”
“Don’t say that! I may have been young and didn’t get to raise you, but I love you! You’re my baby!” Davina said to Max. He just stared at her.
“You don’t really look like a mother. Not in a mean way. You look like a kid.” Max said and Davina laughed.
“I get told that a lot. So does my sister.”
“You don’t say?” Max asks and laughs a bit.
“Max, you have a girlfriend, don’t you? It’s Alana. Right?” Davina asks. Max blushes.
“Y-Yeah.” Max admits.
“That’s so cute! Your girlfriend is adorable too. Don’t think I am weird though…” Davina laughed a little.
Alana was walking in the hallway. “I really do hope Max will be alright. I hope his parents will be able to finally get their rights for Max to live with them. And… I hope my daddy will be happy with Calluna. But still… It feels odd to know… To know that Tj and Lionel are my older brothers.” Alana thought to herself.
Alana made it to the bathroom. The bathroom was quite big. Even the tub was rather large. Alana’s family was rich after all. The house was very beautiful and huge. It was pure luxury. Alana took her clothes off and turned the water on in the tub. When the tub was full, she turned the water off and got into the tub.
“I wonder… if I will be with Max for the rest of my life?”
The next day, Max got a surprise. In the afternoon, Max’s aunt Monica came over with her husband. They also have brought along their daughter. Max was very surprised. He couldn’t believe it. Standing in front of him was Bryan’s girlfriend. Madison.
“What the hell are you doing here?”Max asked Madison surprised. Harlan slaps the back of Max’s head.
“Max!” Harlan didn’t want Max being rude.
“Mommy, daddy I don’t understand what you mean about moving? And why am I going to stay here with Max?” Madison looked up at her parents.
“You know each other?” Davina asks surprised.
“Sort of. I kind of hang with Madison’s boyfriend sometimes. Bryan.” Max explains to his mother.
“Madison you have a boyfriend?” Monica asks. Madison blushes.
“Well, Madison. Please be on your best behavior here. We are in the process of moving still.” Monica tells Madison.
“What is all going on?” Madison was still confused.
“Your uncle will be moving in here soon and your parents are moving.” Davina explains.
“But who are you and why am I going to stay here with Max?” Madison asks.
“Don’t you get it?” Max asked Madison. “Were cousins you idiot. Our moms are sisters.”
“Hey! I am not stupid!” Madison glares at Max. “Wait… Were cousins?” Madison asks surprised.
“Duh.” Max responded and grabs Madison’ bag and took it to Sherry’s bedroom.
“Are you sure she will be alright here?” Monica asks.
“Yes, she will be.” Davina answered.
