Those Three Chapter 17

Max had left. He was walking around outside with his umbrella. The rain just didn’t seem to let down. He had a lot on his mind.

“Am I really ready to take care of this kid with Alana? I mean I told her… I told her that I would be willing to do this. I promised her.” Max thought to himself. “But now that it’s actually happened… I don’t want to. I don’t want to give up my life to raise a kid when I am not ready!” Max felt like he was becoming frustrated with his feelings and what was happening. “I shouldn’t of screwed her without some sort of protection! Dammit!”

A car pulled up near Max. It caused Max to stop walking. He recognized the car. It was his grandpa’s car. The car window came down.

“Hey Max.” Nelson said. It was Max’s grandpa. Over the past few years, Max hasn’t been close to his grandpa and hasn’t talked much to him since he went to live with his parents and siblings.

“What do you want?” Max glared. He felt like he was already in an irritated mood.

“Max, you look like something is troubling you. Is something the matter? You can get in here and talk to me about it if you want? I’ll take you home.” Nelson said. He seemed like he was being caring. Max wasn’t sure.

“I don’t know about that.” Max said and was thinking about just walking away.

“Look, I promise I am not gonna insult your parents to you.” Nelson tells him. Max didn’t really feel like walking in the rain so he just gets in the car with his grandpa and had closed his umbrella. Once he was in the car, he puts his seatbelt on and Nelson drives on. “What is the matter? You don’t seem like you’re usual self.”

“I don’t know if I really want to talk about it.” Max replied and looked out the window.

“Is everything going okay at home?” Nelson asked. Max nods. “Then why are you upset? I don’t like seeing you upset like this. I care about you Max.”

“I’m going to be a dad.” Max blurts out. “I am going to be a father!”

“So you got a girl pregnant? Are you sure it’s yours?” Nelson asked. Max stared at his grandpa.

“Yes, I know it has to be. I slept with her. Multiple times with my girlfriend.” Max admits.

“You’re still with that girl? Max, Max, Max. Look I already knew that she was all wrong for you years ago. I had this bad vibe about her.” Nelson shook his head.

“What are you saying?” Max asked.

“I know what she wanted. She wanted to use you. Make you give her a baby, then screw your life over. She wasn’t even on the pill was she? You could’ve used a condom, but she should’ve known to be on birth control or have her tubes tied. But I know what she wanted. She did this on purpose. You know that right, Max?”

“What the hell are you talking about?!” Max seemed to get angry. “Alana wouldn’t do something like that!”

“I don’t know. I wouldn’t trust those sweet innocent types. They really aren’t. You know? Sweet and innocent. Hell, that baby might not be yours. I am going to bet it’s not.”

“Stop the car and let me out.” Max said. He wanted to get away from his grandpa. Nelson stopped the car.

“I am only speaking the truth, Max. Think about it.” Nelson said. Max got out of the car and shuts it. He started to walk away and his grandpa drove off. Max realized that he left his umbrella in his grandpa’s car, but didn’t want to bother trying to get it back. He felt furious with his grandpa. The rain wasn’t pouring too hard and Max walked the rest of the way home. When he got home, he went to his bedroom to try to clear his mind.

Alana had stopped crying. “You all are really great friends” She said. “I think I am doing better now. Do you all want to watch something?”

“Sure! What should we watch?” Madison asks.

“Maybe a comedy?” Katie suggested. “I am not a fan of horror films.”

“I am not either.” Stephanie admits. Lacy laughed.

“Neither am I.” Lacy also admit.

“Really? Stephanie and Lacy, you both look like you would love horror films.” Madison was surprised.

“Yeah, that’s true.” Stephanie laughed about it.

“What are you all scared of horror films?” Madison smiles devilishly. “Oh come on, it’s just a movie.”

“Well, I am.” Stephanie admits to being scared of horror films. “They give me the creeps.”

“Can’t believe that it could.” Madison was surprised.

“I’m not scared of horror films.” Lacy lies.

“Maybe we should put one on?” Madison suggested with a smile.

“I…I might have to go!” Lacy stood up. “I think Robert was calling me!” Madison grabs Lacy’s arm.

“You’re scared! Just admit it!” Madison laughed.

“Wow, they really are being lively.” Katie sat down by Alana. “It’s kind of refreshing seeing Lacy acting this way. You agree?”

“Yes.” Alana smiled.

“Hey, I don’t think Max will ever leave you. He loves you. And… if something happens between the both of you, I am sure it will get solved. I believe in your relationship with him.” Katie smiles. Alana felt happy hearing that from Katie.

“Thank you.” Alana replies.

“Okay! Dammit! I’ll admit it! I hate horror films because they scare me! I admit!” Lacy says trying to take off but Madison had a strong grip on her. Madison lets her go and Lacy fell to the floor.

“You could’ve just admit to it instead of running.” Madison said and left Alana’s bedroom.

“Hey, you didn’t have to drop me.” Lacy sat up on the floor.

“Where did Madison go?” Stephanie asked.

“Maybe she went to look for a movie to watch? She will probably get lost.” Alana giggles. “I do that.”

“Get lost in your own home? Man.” Stephanie was trying to think about that.

“Wait, why don’t a maid get a movie for us? Like you got those here right? Or did your dad kept looking up their skirts and your step mom got jealous and fired them all and hired butlers?” Lacy asked. Alana wasn’t sure if she was joking or not.

“Uh… What? My dad doesn’t do that! Well… not anymore… He stopped doing that when he got back together with Calluna! You’re so gross!”

“Wait he really did that?” Lacy was surprised and covered her mouth. She was trying to hold her laugh in.

“Ew, Alana she’s putting dirty thoughts in my head about your dad!” Katie put her hand on her face. “Make it go away!”

“Katie” Stephanie laughs.

Madison was walking around in the big house. She was looking down. “Alana is worried about Max leaving her. And… I left Bryan… But I couldn’t take it. He kept trying to sleep with me, I don’t want to do that. We kept fighting anyways.” Madison thought to herself. She stopped walking and was just standing there.

“I do…miss him. Bryan was really… He really was special to me. I loved him, I still love him.” Madison began to feel upset thinking about her relationship with Bryan before. She began to wonder if it was right for her to just dump him when she still had feelings for him.

Someone came walking behind Madison and its startled her when they touched her shoulder.

“Eh?” She turned around fast and saw Tj, Alana’s older half brother. “You scared me…” She said and was relief that it wasn’t a stranger.

“You get lost?” Tj asked her. She shook her head.

“No, I just kinda needed some time to walk around a bit. I had something on my mind.” Madison said. She never really spoke much to Tj before in the past.

“I’m surprised how pretty that you’re becoming.” Tj said staring at her. Madison glared.

“Don’t flirt with me. Sabrina dumped Louie because she likes you and I don’t see why!”

“Don’t have to be rude, Sabrina is a little girl.” Tj laughs. “I don’t have any feelings for her.”

“I am a little girl to you too! I am just a year older than her!” Madison turned around and was about to walk away when Tj grabs her hand. “W-What?” Madison asked looking back at him. “You never usually want to talk to me, why now?”

“Because, I don’t think of you as a little girl.” Tj responds. Madison got her hand free from Tj.

“Well, I am sorry to bust your bubble, but I don’t like you like that! I like someone else!” Madison glares at him.

“Bryan? Didn’t you break up with him?” Tj asked and laughed a little. “Are you sure you even like him?”

“Why do you care? Besides, I just needed a little break. Now leave me alone.” Madison walks away from Tj.

“She’s cute,” Tj thought to himself.

Madison went back to Alana’s bedroom. “We were wondering where you went. We already started the movie. We decided on a comedy.” Katie said when she noticed Madison coming into the bedroom. Madison sat down to join them watching it.

When it began to get late, all four of the girls went to sleep. Alana slept on her bed while the other girls all slept in sleeping bags on the floor in the bedroom. Around 2 AM, thunder struck. It had woken up Alana. She sits up on her bed.

“Was that thunder?” She asked and looked out her window that was near her bed. “Keeps raining a lot lately.” Alana gets up off her bed and noticed that Madison wasn’t sleeping or in the bedroom. “Madison? Where is she?” Alana wondered. She decided to go searching for her. She didn’t know if she possibly went to the bathroom or not.

Alana finds Madison in the family room. She was sitting there on the sofa talking to Tj. Alana just peaked and didn’t walk in on them.

“What’s Madison doing with Tj?” Alana wondered.
