Craig was talking to Katie on the phone. “You been hanging a lot with your family?” Katie asks.
“Yes. I been having a lot of fun. Why don’t you come over?” Craig suggested.
“I don’t know if I should. I don’t want to be rude.”
“It is not rude. Oh! By the way, my mom told my sister and I that she is pregnant.”
“Really?! That’s so cute! She’s going to have another baby? Oh wow! I want to buy the baby something but do you guys know the gender yet?” Katie asks.
“Not yet.” Craig responds.
“So Sabrina is going to be an older sister now? You’re going to be a big brother all over again.” Katie giggles a little.
“It seems that way.” Craig said. He was smiling. He felt happy for his parents. They were happy together again. It almost felt like it was too good to be true. As if everything was a dream. A good dream.
Sabrina had gone out that day. She told her parents that she was going to spend the day with her friends. Her friends Paige, Doreen, and Jalicia. But that was a lie. She didn’t really want to tell that that she was going to visit Tj. Tj was in his new home now. Tj, his brother Lionel, and mother all moved in with Alana and her father. In a few months, Alana’s father and Tj’s mother was going to be married.
“What are you doing here?” Tj asked Sabrina. Alana had let her in and she went into Tj’s bedroom.
“I came to visit you!” Sabrina said with a smile upon her face.
“Sabrina, I know you like me and all but I don’t have sexual feelings for you. You’re just a child.” Sabrina glares at him.
“I bet you are trying to date someone else! Aren’t you?” Sabrina glares at him.
“Don’t you get it? I am allowed to go on casual dates and sleep with who I want until you’re older. I can’t even date you yet.” Tj said and laughed. Sabrina didn’t like hearing that.
“Tj… I don’t want you to do that anymore.”
“Why not?” Tj asked. “You didn’t seem to mind before. You said as long as you get to be with me when you were older you didn’t care.” Tj was confused about Sabrina.
“I… I don’t want that. I don’t want you doing that anymore. Why can’t you just like me?” Sabrina asks.
“I already told you that you’re a child.”
“I am mature!” Sabrina snaps at him. Tj smiles at her and touches the top of her head.
“Sabrina, stay young. Be a kid and when you become a teenager be that too. When you’re old enough we can be together. If you still have feelings for me.”
“Are you trying to say that I might not have feelings for you when I grow up?!” Sabrina was angry with Tj.
“You’re young. Sometimes kids feelings change and sometimes they don’t. Don’t take it the wrong way. I want you to be happy as you are and if you really want to be with me when you get older then we will. Okay?” Tj took his hand off of Sabrina’s head.
“But… What if you fall in love with a girl that’s your age?” Sabrina asked and looked down. Tj laughed a little. She looked back at him and glared. “What’s so funny?”
“You are. Thinking I would just fall in love with some random chick. That’s hilarious. I am not in the mood to fall in love right now.” Tj said. Sabrina wasn’t sure what to think of Tj. He pulled a cigarette and starts to smoke. “You better get back home. I don’t want your family worried about you. Also your older brother doesn’t want you sneaking off all the time to see me. He knows I won’t do anything, but still.”
“Tj… I don’t care what Craig thinks. I don’t care what my parents think. I really like you.” Sabrina walks closer to Tj. He was just staring at her. “I am going to be eleven soon and I already gone through puberty. Why can’t you see me attractive yet?”
“Eleven is a child, Sabrina.” Tj said and sits his cigarette in his ashtray. Sabrina looks up at him. She stood on her tippy toes and grabs Tj’s face. She forces it down by hers and makes him bend down a little. Instantly, Sabrina’s lips were on Tj’s. He was surprised.
“Why can’t he see me as a woman?” Sabrina thought to herself. Tj moves away from Sabrina.
“What the hell are you trying to pull?! I can go to jail for that!” Tj yelled at Sabrina. He was angry. “Honestly! You really are too young for me! I am sixteen! You’re going to be eleven! Don’t you get it?!”
“No matter how much I try to be older… I try to look older, I hang with older girls. I try to be more mature but that doesn’t even seem to get your attention. I don’t know why I started to like you… You’re mean.” Tears started coming down her face. Tj didn’t want to hurt her feelings but he knew it was wrong.
“Sabrina, it’s wrong. You’re still a child. Be a child. Don’t force yourself to grow up just because you think you’re going to be with me.” Hearing that made Sabrina felt different.
“Thinking?! I don’t get it! You told me that you will be with me when I get older?! You lied?!” Sabrina ran over to the door. “I HATE YOU!” She slammed the door when she ran out. She didn’t even give Tj a chance to speak.
“Sabrina is a child” Tj mumbles to himself.
Craig got off the phone with Katie. “I talked a lot with her. Katie is such a nice girl. Pretty too.” Craig smiles. The front door slammed opened and was then shut. Sabrina was crying. Craig had noticed and stared at Sabrina.
“What’s wrong?” Craig asks his little sister. Sabrina didn’t respond and went straight to her bedroom. When she got in her bedroom she slammed down on her bed and started crying.
“He’s a jerk!” Sabrina says in tears. Craig came into the bedroom.
“Sabrina are you alright?” Craig asked.
“I am fine!” Sabrina lies. Craig knew she was. He went over to the bed and sat down on it by her.
“You went to see Tj didn’t you?” Craig asked.
“H-How did you know?! Did he call you up and told on me?!” Sabrina sat up and was glaring.
“No. He didn’t I just took a guess. I was right?” Craig asked. Sabrina turned her head and didn’t stare at Craig. “Sabrina, you really shouldn’t like him. I am not trying to tell you what to do, but Tj is a player. He’s not the type to fall in love.” Craig tells Sabrina.
“I… I know that.” Sabrina looks down. “He keeps telling me I am just a child! But I am mature!”
“Sabrina… You are still a child.” Craig laughed a little.
“I don’t want to be! I want to be older and be noticed by Tj! He doesn’t even find me attractive at all! Puberty sucks!”
“Why don’t you like guys around your age?” Craig asks.
“Because they aren’t mature.”
“Mature? Tj is mature? That dude smokes, curses, and once was arrested. That’s mature?” Craig was confused.
“That’s a real man.” Sabrina responds and dries her tears.
“I think you got the wrong impression of a real man.” Craig said and laughed a little. He couldn’t help but think his sister was saying weird things. Sabrina didn’t like him laughing at her.
“Are you just in here to make fun of me?” Sabrina asks.
“No. I am not. I was concerned because you were crying.” Craig responds. “Sabrina, I don’t think you honestly should honestly think about dating Tj.” Craig got up. “He’s not really a good guy as you might think he is.” Craig left the bedroom.
“Even so… I still like Tj.” Sabrina thought to herself.
Lacy was just spending time with Robert. They both were together in his bedroom. Laying on the bed by each other. “You really are something else.” Robert said to Lacy.
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t mean it in a bad way.” Robert touches Lacy’s face.
“Why are you touching me?”
“Is that wrong?”
“Where’s Ronnie?” Lacy asked.
“I don’t know.” Robert answered. “He said he was going to get some drinks but never came back for a long time now. You think he got lost?”
“Possibly.” Lacy moves Robert’s hand off of her face.
“Lacy, you know that I really… really…” Robert’s face turned red. Lacy stared at him.
“You what?” She asks. Robert felt his heart beating faster as he stared at Lacy. His face was getting more red. He became embarrassed. “Well?” She wanted to know what he wanted to say to her.
“I really think you can be rude sometimes.” Robert said instead to cover up what he wanted to say. He sat up. She sat up and glares at him.
“Yeah?! Who cares if I am!” She yells at him. Robert felt like he couldn’t even tell her what he wanted to really say. He looked at her. She blushes a little. “Robert?”
“I wonder where Ronnie went, why can’t we fool around? Dad is at work. Bryan went to camp. Ronnie and are the only ones home.”
“I am here too aren’t I?!” Lacy said glaring at him.
“You are, but you don’t live here.”
“What about Michael? Oh wait, he’s at camp too. Where’s Michael’s dad?”
“I think he got a job somewhere now.” Robert responds. “See? We can fool around.”
“Is that all you got on your mind?” Lacy asked when Robert pushes himself on Lacy causing her to have her back against the bed.
“Damn right. I can’t stop looking at you.” Robert said and touches one of Lacy’s breasts. “These are big for your age. Your breasts are the size of an adult female’s.” Robert said to her. “Why is your breasts so big?”
“Are they really that fascinating? I got it from my mom. She is like that too. Robert, do you ever stop to think we’re too young to be having sex?”
“I am going to be 16 in July. What makes you think I would be too young? You’re 15 right?” Robert asks. She nods.
“Yes. Ronnie and I are the same age. His birthday is just 3 days after mine.” Lacy responds.
“That’s plenty old enough. I don’t know why ask now if we already had sex before.” Robert said and laughed a little. Lacy moves Robert’s hand off her breast.
“So let me get this straight. You and Ronnie are both the same age till your birthday in July?” Lacy asked. “In May and June you both are the same age?”
“Yeah, is that a problem?” Robert asks.
“No. It’s just weird.”
