It was the next day. In the afternoon. Brice had gone to work and already took Bryan to school. Robert and Ronnie, on the other hand decided to take Lacy out. Lacy’s mother, Abbilynn, thought it was a good idea to let her hang out with them and make new friends.
“Were going to update your wardrobe.” Robert tells Lacy.
“What? I don’t got money.” Lacy wanted to get new clothes, but she had no money.
“Don’t worry, we got some.” Ronnie winks at Lacy.
“W-What? I can’t take your money.” Lacy says feeling nervous.
“It’s okay.” Robert tells her. Lacy wasn’t sure about the idea. They go into a store. The store had lots of clothes that she liked. Lacy stared at some of the clothes and couldn’t stop looking at them.
“Who knew they had girl versions of my clothes.” Ronnie laughed a bit. He pulled out a grey and black striped shirt along with black pants.
“That’s odd.” Robert said staring at the clothes.
“Let’s get it for her. And this. This too.” Ronnie kept picking up lots of clothes.
“But you don’t know my sizes.” Lacy said feeling nervous about what was going on.
“That’s true. Try these on.” Ronnie hands Lacy the clothes and pushes her into the dressing room.
“You really shouldn’t be so forceful like that.” Robert said to Ronnie.
“Oh shut up.” Ronnie couldn’t wait to see what Lacy looked like in the new clothes. The clothes were all dark colors. “You said Lacy didn’t like the fashion what she had on? Why she looked adorable?”
“She can wear what she wants.” Robert tells his brother. “And I wanted to help her get some clothes because she hates all her original clothes.”
Lacy was trying on the clothes in the dressing room. “Steven was mad at me for running off last night, but it’s a good thing my mom woke up and didn’t let him hurt me. I really need to tell my mom the truth about everything. But… I’m scared to. She needs money and a good job.” Lacy tried on a shirt and pants. They seem to fit her. In fact, all the clothes that Ronnie picked out seem to fit her. Surprisingly. “They all fit.” Lacy puts back her original clothes on and takes the clothes with her out of the changing room. “They fit.”
“That’s good.” Ronnie smiles at her. Ronnie and Robert take the clothes and were paying for them.
“I can’t believe they are getting me clothes.” Lacy blushed a little thinking about it. “I really shouldn’t be getting them to do this though…” Lacy started to look down and feel bad about it. Robert and Ronnie came back over to her holding all the bags.
“We bought all the clothes. What’s the matter?” Ronnie asked her. He noticed that she was looking upset now.
“You two don’t even know me, yet you got me clothes.” Lacy said to him.
“We seem to have stuff in common.” Robert tells her. Earlier, when they were walking to the store, they all spoke about what they all liked. Which were similar things. The main thing they all had in common was they hated light colors and liked dark colors.
They made it to Lacy’s home. “I want to put on one of these outfits and get this ridiculous one off.” Lacy said and went inside the house.
“Tomorrow we go back to school don’t we?” Ronnie asked Robert. He nods. “Shit. And I was having fun on my little break from school.” Lacy came out about ten minutes later. She had on one of the new outfits that Robert and Ronnie had gotten her. She was wearing a black shirt with red blood splat on it. Her pants were black.
“Is it okay for you to come hang with us still?” Robert asked. She nods. “Want to go over our place?” Robert asked.
“I guess.” Lacy felt relief that Steven was out at work. Her mother was out trying to get Lacy and her brother signed up for school. James, Lacy’s younger brother was at home. He was reading a science book and was very fascinated with it. Robert and Ronnie went home and took Lacy over with them.
“Your mom’s boyfriend hasn’t tried anything lately with you, has he?” Ronnie asked Lacy.
“No. He has been getting mean, but nothing else.” Lacy tells him.
“That’s good. I really want to punch that bastard.”
“I feel like that too.” Robert thought to himself. He went to the kitchen and was getting a drink for all of them. Lacy and Ronnie sat down on the sofa.
“I can’t believe how cute she looks in these new clothes.” Ronnie thought to himself blushing a little as he stared at Lacy. She looked cute before to him in her old clothes, but these new clothes that she was wearing, he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her.
“There is no such thing as love, but why do I keep thinking of that Lacy girl? Why am I so concerned about her?” Robert thought to himself. He decided not to think anymore of it and went into the living room. He had the drinks. He sits them down on the coffee table and then sits on the chair next to the sofa.
“Is there anything good we all can watch? Do you have school tomorrow like we do?” Ronnie asked Lacy.
“I am not sure. Probably.” Lacy didn’t have a clue when she was supposed to be going to school, but all she knew was that it was soon.
“School sucks.” Ronnie laughed and picked up the remote. He turns the TV on. “I don’t really pay attention to the teachers.”
“In my old school, I used to ditch class. I would go to the bathroom and won’t come back for a while.” Lacy tells them.
“Yeah, ditching is better.” Robert agreed. He did it quite a few times himself before. Ronnie also did. Robert took a look at Lacy. He blushed a little as he stared. “I bet she’ll look hotter in a mini skirt.” Robert thought to himself.
“Do you want to stay for dinner? I make good food.” Ronnie asked.
“I don’t think I can.” Lacy answered. An hour passed since Lacy was hanging with the two in their home. She stood up. “I need to go.”
“So soon?” Ronnie asked.
“Yes. I don’t want to be out too long.” Lacy tells him and leaves.
“it’s a shame she has to leave so early.” Ronnie says looking down a little.
Lacy got home. When she got there, she saw Steven sitting on the sofa. “Where’s my mom and brother?” Lacy asked feeling nervous.
“Your mother and brother are out.” Steven answered. He stood up staring at her. Lacy didn’t like the way he stared at her. It frightened her. “Where were you?”
“I…I went out to hang with friends.” Lacy told the truth.
“Friends? You have friends already?” Steven asks. Lacy nods slowly. Lacy felt uneasy being in the house with him alone. She was thinking she should’ve stayed over Robert’s and Ronnie’s house. She didn’t like being alone with Steven. Lacy quickly made her way to her bedroom and was hoping her brother and mother came home quickly.
Ronnie looked at the clock. “It’s time to get that squirt from school.”
“You can go pick him up.” Robert said pulling a cigarette out of a cigarette pack on the coffee table. He picked up a lighter and lights it. Robert began to smoke. Ronnie left and went to get Bryan at school. Robert was sitting there thinking of Lacy. “I hope she’s alright. No! I don’t care so much about her!” Robert tries to deny it to himself.
Lacy was sitting on her bed. “Please don’t let that jerk come in here.” Lacy thought to herself. She had the door locked already because she felt scared. She didn’t want to be near that Steven guy. She didn’t like being alone with him in the house. It frightened her. Steven was making his way up the stairs. Lacy could hear him coming. “Please don’t be coming to my bedroom!” Lacy hoped for. There was a knock at her door.
“Lacy? What are you doing in there? Why did you ran off so quickly?” Steven asked. Lacy didn’t know how to respond.
“I…I…uh…” Lacy wasn’t sure what to say. She didn’t want to tell him the truth. That would make him angry. “I… I am tired.” Lacy lied. “I just want to lay down and rest.”
“Open this door now, young lady.” Steven seemed angry.
“He didn’t believe my lie.” Lacy thought to herself and got up. She slowly walked over to her door and unlocked it. She then opened the door. She stared up at Steven. Staring at him made her shake a little. “I’m tired…” She tells him trying her best to be brave.
“Why do I get the feeling that I don’t believe you?” Steven asked looking down at her. Lacy didn’t know what to say. She just stayed quiet. Steven began to walk into Lacy’s bedroom. Lacy had no choice but to walk backwards.
“What?” She asked him. He pushes her onto her bed. “W-What are you doing?!” Lacy asked felt like she just wanted to run away and scream.
“You’re sexy when you lie.” Steven said laughing. Lacy didn’t like hearing that from him. Her heart was beating fast. She was frightened.
Robert felt like deep down in his gut that something was wrong. “Maybe I should go check on Lacy.” Robert thought and got up. He was getting ready to leave the house. “Her mom’s boyfriend can’t be trusted. I know that for a fact.” Robert left the house and went next door. He began to knock on the door. There was no response. After a minute later, he rang the doorbell. He was hoping he got an answer. Still no response. He kept ringing the doorbell.
“The door… Someone is at the door.” Lacy said to Steven. She wanted him off of her.
“Let them sit there.” Steven said squeezing Lacy’s right breast. Lacy didn’t like him touching her. She didn’t like the fact he had his hand under her shirt and was touching her breast. It made her uncomfortable.
“What if it’s my mom or brother? Maybe she forgot her keys.” Lacy just wanted Steven off of her. Steven glared at her.
“Fine.” He gets up and left the room. Lacy felt relief.
‘Thank you whoever is out there.” Lacy thought to herself. She felt disgusted of what Steven was doing to her. Steven answered the door and saw Robert.
“Who are you and what do you want?” Steven asked.
“Just wanted to talk to Lacy. Is she home?” Robert asked.
“You her friend or boyfriend?” Steven asked.
“Friend.” Robert replied.
“Get out of here. Go home.” Steven rudely said and slams the door. Robert didn’t like his tone or attitude towards him.
“Lacy really needs to tell her mother what’s been going on. I don’t care if she’s scared to or waiting for her mother to save money. She needs to tell the truth. Or things are going to get worse.” Robert thought to himself. He felt bad for Lacy, but he promised he that he wouldn’t tell. He felt bad for not going out telling the truth. He wanted Lacy and her family out of that house away from that Steven guy. He was insane. Crazy. And needed to be arrested.
