Those Three Chapter 21

“I really want to… well…”

“Just spit it out, Robert.” Brice says feeling irritated.

“Well, it’s about Lacy. I mean. I really like her a lot.”

“What? You going to break up with her?” Brice asks.

“No! Hell no! I wouldn’t want to do that! I like Lacy too much to do that.” Robert says and blushed a little.

“Then why do you want to talk about her to me anyways?” Brice asked.

“Nevermind.” Robert got up. “I think I’ll go.” Robert leaves the house. He felt like talking to his dad about that might not be the right choice.

Robert decided to go home to his apartment. When he got there, he saw that Lacy was in there. She was sitting down on his bed.

“You’re here?” Robert asked her. Lacy got up off the bed and hugged him.

“Robert! I was just thinking… I just talked to Stephanie and she thinks one day we can all go out somewhere. Get a bite to eat and go somewhere fun maybe.” Lacy said with a smile to Robert. “Her, Ronnie, you, and me. What do you think?”

“I don’t know Lacy… I might want to cancel on that right now.” Robert said and Lacy stops hugging Robert. She stared at him confused.

“Are you upset? You and Ronnie aren’t fighting again are you?” Lacy asks. She felt like she was starting to feel worried that the two brothers could possibly be fighting again. Robert shook his head.

“No. We aren’t. It’s just I have things I have to do. So I’ll be kind of busy soon.” Robert sat down on his bed. “Meaning that you can’t really keep coming over here all the time.”

“But why? When I turn 18, my mom says I can just move in here if I want to. You aren’t thinking about getting rid of me are you?” Lacy asked. She looks down.

“No. I just have to start working more. I got to put in more hours. That’s all.” Robert tells Lacy. She sat down next to him.

“Oh. I get that. Do you think maybe I should get a job if I start living with you?” Lacy asks. Robert just stared at her. “Do you want me to?”

“Lacy, right now… I want you to finish school.” Robert touches her face.

“I don’t get why my mom just won’t let me quit. School has been a hassle and I am kind of falling behind on my schoolwork and stuff.” Lacy admits. Robert just looked at Lacy. Staring right into her eyes. Lacy’s face starts turning red. She was blushing. Her heart was beating fast. “R-Robert?” Lacy felt like Robert was going to kiss her. Robert pulled her face close to his. His lips about to touch hers. Lacy closed her eyes as she prepared herself to be kissed.

Robert stopped himself and moved away. He let’s go of her face. Lacy opened her eyes. She stared at Robert confused.

“Sorry, I don’t think I am up for anything tonight.” Robert tells her. Lacy stared at him. Her face still blushing red.

“You sure?” Lacy smiles devilishly and touches Robert’s leg.

“Why? Do you want me Lacy?” Robert asks and flashes a smile back to her.

Peg, Lacy’s older half sister was at her parent’s home sitting on the sofa. She felt jealous and angry. She recently overheard not too long ago Lacy having a conversation with Alana. Alana was pregnant and Peg thought it was unfair.

“I can’t believe that cunt is pregnant when I really should be! I am older after all.” Peg says feeling mad. “I can’t stand that Alana is with Max either! She isn’t supposed to be with him!” Peg just some reason was jealous of Alana. In fact, she was jealous of a lot of people but didn’t want to admit it. She was jealous of her sister Lacy too. “I should be with Max and I should be carrying his kid!” Peg says feeling angry. “I mean, I liked him before Alana did! I know I did!” Peg just really wanted a baby. But she wanted a baby girl, not a boy. Peg didn’t have any children of her own and wasn’t even sure if she could since she had irregular periods sometimes. She was still kind of young, just 18 and just wanted to have a baby girl. She was jealous knowing Alana was pregnant because there was a possibly what if it was a girl? She just didn’t like Lacy or any one that Lacy knew. She hated all the girls. She did like a lot of the guys though. Peg was jealous of Lacy with Robert, because Peg thought Robert was too good looking for Lacy. As Peg thought she was ugly. She thought Alana was too ugly for Max.

“I need to put a stop to this!” Peg gets up off the sofa. “There’s no way I can allow this to happen! I want a baby!” Peg says leaving the house. She pulled her cell phone out of her pocket to call up one of her friends. Back when Peg was in school, she actually had quite a lot of friends in high school and admires. She always had a lot of boyfriends too. After she graduated, she had remain friends with all her friends.

“What’s up, Peg?” The girl on the other line asked. She was laying on her bed in her room looking at a fashion magazine when Peg had called.

“One of my sister’s stupid friends!”

“What did one of her little friends do?” The girl asked Peg.

“She slept with my boyfriend, then she got pregnant by him! That slut! And then she made him breakup with me and go with her! I can’t believe that little hoe could do something like that!” Peg yelled. She started to cry on the phone to her friend.

“Who was the little whore that did that?!” The girl asked. She was getting angry hearing about that happening to her friend Peg.

“Lacy’s friend, Alana! That slut!” Peg tells her friend.

“Oh, that girl. She’s so rich, she probably bought him off you know. I bet that’s what happened! What a tramp!”

“I know I can’t believe they did this to me!” Peg cried. She soon got off the phone and dried her tears and smiles devilishly.  She was indeed a good actor and a faker. “Now I need to split up Max and Alana. I need for him to be mine. Hmm… How should I do that?” Peg wondered.

The next day had come. The day was a rainy day. Fall was setting in more and the day was kind of chilly. The day just seemed to be gloomy out. Lacy woke up to Robert getting dressed and getting ready to leave.

“Are you going to work?” Lacy asked him and rubbed her eyes.

“Yeah, I am getting ready to leave soon. You can stay asleep if you want.” Robert tells her. She stared at the window and noticed the rain. She then looked back at Robert.

“Aren’t you going to get rained on? It’s pouring out there.”

“I’ll be okay. Amy is coming to pick me up to drop me off at work.” Robert walks over to Lacy. She blushed looking up at him.

“Would it be okay for me to stay here?” Lacy asks Robert.

“I don’t see a problem with it, but I am going to be gone for a while.” Robert kisses Lacy and then made his way to the door. “Alright, I’m going.”

“See you.” Lacy puts her hand up to wave. Robert left. Lacy just felt like something was a little different but she wasn’t sure what it was. She decided to call up Alana.

“It’s nice for it to be a no school day. What are you doing?” Alana asks Lacy.

“I am at Robert’s apartment. You want to come over? We can hang together if you want.”

‘Sure. I’ll get a ride over there. Do you want me to invite any of the others? Like Katie and Madison?” Alana asks.

“No. I think I’ll invite Stephanie. I don’t think Madison and Katie probably would want to come over. I don’t know.” Lacy replies.

“Oh. Well, I’m going to be on my way. See you when I get there.” Alana got off the phone with Lacy.

“I need to get dressed.” Lacy said and got up. She took a quick shower and got into some clothes. Afterwards, she got her hair brushed and she puts it up into a ponytail. She then leaves Robert’s apartment to invite Stephanie over. It didn’t take long for Alana to come over and soon all three girls were in Robert’s apartment. 

“Is Robert at work?” Alana asks. She was sitting on Robert’s bed by Lacy. Stephanie had a seat on the floor.

“Yeah, he’s been working a lot lately. And it’s kinda odd why he wants to add more hours in. I feel weird… Like he’s been acting weird and it’s make me feel weird.” Lacy looks down. Alana stared at Lacy. She was concerned for her friend but didn’t feel like Robert would do anything to hurt Lacy.

“He’s probably just trying to make some extra money. I don’t think he would do anything to hurt you.” Alana reassures Lacy. Lacy stared at Alana and smiled a little.

“Yeah, I think so to. I want to believe that.” Lacy replies.

“Ronnie has been really nice to me lately! I can’t believe that he has been! Today, he went to hang with some friends. Which is your brother Tj, but he’s been really nice to me. I am so surprised about Ronnie. Do you two think he likes me?” Stephanie asks. She began to blush.

“I think he’s falling in love with you.” Lacy tells Stephanie. “I mean I really believe that.”

“You two make such a cute couple!” Alana smiles. “Just like how Robert and Lacy makes a cute couple too!”

“I don’t think we’re cute…” Lacy says feeling a little embarrassed.  Alana pulled her cell phone out of her purse and pulled up the messages of her and Max together. He hasn’t answered her. Even when she called he never did. Alana was worried but began to feel like she knew what was going on. Alana puts her phone away and the two Lacy and Stephanie were staring at her. They were concerned about her and noticed the sad expression on Alana’s face.

“What’s wrong?” Stephanie asks Alana.

“I don’t want to cause a commotion. Please don’t yell at Max. He has every right.” Alana says. Lacy already didn’t like where that was going.

“What did he do?! Did he breakup with you?! Did he?!” Lacy asked. She seemed angry. Alana wasn’t even sure if he actually did, he just wasn’t responding to her anymore. Which made her feel like that he probably did break up with her.

“Well… he…” Alana looked down.

“Did he even wrote you today?! Did he even checkup on you?!” Lacy asks. Alana slowly shook her head ‘no’. “That asshole! What kind of a father is he?! Or boyfriend for that matter?! I feel like slapping the shit out of him right now!” Lacy was furious with Max. She felt like she wanted to go right to his home and slap him as hard as she could.

“It’s okay!” Alana wanted Lacy to calm down.

“No! It’s not okay! Alana! You can’t be taking crap like that from him! He got you pregnant! It’s his responsibility to be there for the baby! Even for you!” Lacy was about to leave but Stephanie grabbed a hold of her.

“You really shouldn’t just go down there and hit him! Why not call him or you text him?” Stephanie suggested to Lacy.

“Give me his number! I want to tell him off!” Lacy says to Alana.

“I don’t really want to start a fight though…” Alana looked down.

“You aren’t! He is! Now give me his number!” Lacy sat down by Alana and got Max’s number. Lacy dialed the phone number and Max picked up.

“Who is this?” Max asked confused.

“It’s Lacy! OH MY GOD! CAN YOU BE A MAN?! WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?! WHY AREN’T YOU TALKING TO ALANA?! WHY CAN’T YOU BE A MAN AND CHECKUP ON HER AND THE BABY?! HUH?!” Lacy got rude with Max on the phone.

“Look, I don’t think I really need to listen to advice from you.” Max said to Lacy. “Why are you calling me? And why do you even bother to care? I thought you didn’t care for people?”

“Who said I didn’t?! Man! You need to talk to Alana! She’s been so upset! Do you want her to be depressed?!” Lacy asks.

“I don’t have to listen to you! And no! I will not! NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!” Max yelled and hung up the phone.

“That freaking! Ugh!” Lacy was fed up with Max. Alana heard him yelling on the phone. Alana couldn’t help it, she was crying. Her tears running down her face.
