Robert and Ronnie wanted to kill Craig. They already felt so mad that they wanted to attack him. Robert wasn’t sure why he felt so angry, but he couldn’t take it much anymore. They went looking around for Craig and Lacy in town. Hoping to find them and stop Craig before he got to do what he wanted to do.
Craig got done with Lacy eating and they both started to walk around in town. “Lacy, do you want to go somewhere and just talk?” Craig asked.
“I am not so sure.” Lacy responds.
“Come on, let’s get out of the cold.” Craig said and decided to take Lacy over to his grandparents’s home.
“Isn’t this your place?” She asked.
“My grandparents’ place. I have been staying with them since my dad is trying to get some help.”
“Oh.” They both go inside and go to the bedroom Craig was staying at. He sits down on the bed and took his coat off.
“You can sit down and talk to me. You can also take your coat off. It’s warm in here.” Craig tells her. Lacy sits down on the bed by Craig and took her coat off. She wasn’t sure if she should be alone with him in the bedroom.
“Is your grandparents here?” Lacy quickly asked.
“No. They are at work. They still work. My little sister isn’t even here either. She’s out hanging with her friends or so I heard when I dropped my backpack off earlier. Lacy wasn’t sure if she felt comfortable knowing that her and Craig were alone.
“He better not be planning sex with me. I am not some slut.” Lacy thinks to herself.
“My dad is getting some help. He just was a bad drinker and was get angry so much. But he’s going to therapy and getting better. I heard soon he would come live here with us till he saves up money to get a place again.”
“Your father is a drinker?” Lacy was a little surprised that Craig was telling her about what’s been going on. Maybe all he wanted to do was just talk.
“I think we should get to know each other better. Do you care if I tell you about myself?” Craig asked her.
“I don’t mind.”
“I got a little sister name ‘Sabrina’. She’s sometimes annoying and sometimes not. My mother isn’t in the picture right now.” Craig looks down.
“My dad… he… he isn’t with my mother right now. My mom is struggling trying to take care of my little brother James and me. I think I understand what you’re father is going through.”
“He really is trying, but he just hasn’t been the same since mother left. Mother was gone one day and my dad’s brother, my uncle, was living with us. But not anymore. He’s in prison.”
“Did he do something wrong?” Lacy asked. She wasn’t sure if she should ask or not. Craig wasn’t sure why he wanted to tell Lacy everything. He felt like he could just tell her even though he didn’t knew her much. He just felt like something about her he could trust. She seemed like someone that was already going through a similar situation as him. A parent out of the picture.
“Yes, he did do something wrong. I…I really don’t know if I wanna talk about it.”
“Craig, you may not know much of me, but if it’s something you don’t want to talk about, then I am not going to make you talk about it.” Lacy said touching Craig’s shoulder. He blushes a little. He wasn’t sure why he felt different around Lacy. His heart was beating a little.
“My…My uncle did something wrong to my little sister and me. And… and I feel like since then I just never been the same.”
“Something wrong?” Hearing that made Lacy remember what happened to her. She started thinking more about it. “He did something wrong to Craig’s little sister and him? Something wrong…” Lacy started to get the idea. It made her start to remember what Steven did to her.
“N-NO!” Lacy shouts and stood up. She had tears running down her face.
“What’s the matter?!” Craig stood up and was confused.
“STOP IT! NO!” Lacy was having a flashback what had happened to her. Craig grabs Lacy.
“Are you okay?!” He was confused on what was going on. Lacy just didn’t snap out of her flashback.
“PLEASE STOP IT! GET OFF OF ME!” Lacy cried. Craig lets her go.
“I’m sorry! Lacy I don’t know what I did.” Craig was frowning.
“NO! NO! I DON’T WANT IT! GET OUT OF ME!” Hearing that made Craig stop and look at Lacy.
“W-What?” Craig couldn’t believe what he heard. Did the same thing happen to her that happened to him? He started to think about what had happened before to him.
“STOP! PLEASE STOP IT! IT HURTS!” Craig cries. Craig started to have a flashback of his own of what his uncle had done to him. They two fell to the floor crying. After the flashback stops they both stared at each other for a minute in silence.
Craig gets up and walks over to Lacy. He helps her up. “I’m sorry.” He said.
“I’m sorry too. I…” Lacy looks down.
“We’re similar.” Craig said to her. She looked at him.
“We…We are…”
Robert and Ronnie had no luck finding Lacy and Craig. “He better not be doing anything to her!” Ronnie said. He felt so angry and jealous at the same time.
“I wanna kill him!” Robert seemed to be very angry as well. Ronnie stared at Robert and noticed this about his older brother.
“Does he like Lacy too?” Ronnie wondered. Ronnie felt like he liked Lacy ever since he met her. He got offended and angry when Steven did such horrible things to her. After that, something just made Ronnie want to protect Lacy and be with her. “Hey Robert.”
“What?” Robert stared at his younger brother.
“Do you like Lacy?”
“I already told you, love doesn’t exist.” Robert’s response seemed cold, but Ronnie felt like he could tell that Robert was denying his own feelings. Denying love exist and even denying that he was in love with Lacy. It made Ronnie feel bad because he felt the same for Lacy and didn’t want to fight with his brother for her.
Craig was staring at Lacy. “Lacy… You went through so much like I did?” Craig asked and touched her face. Lacy blushes a little.
“I… I think so. But… the one who hurt me was my mom’s ex boyfriend.” Lacy responds. Craig kept staring at her. Something about her just made him felt different. He felt like he didn’t like hearing about what Lacy’s mother’s ex-boyfriend did to her. He felt like he wanted to punch him if he ever saw the guy.
“He’s in prison now like my uncle, right?” Craig asked.
“Yes.” Lacy answers.
“I’m sorry. It’s just I never met someone who is like me. I know I have my little sister, but I think she is trying to erase the event from her memory.” Craig takes his hand off Lacy’s face. “I don’t blame her though. I wish I could block it out too.”
“I wished that I could block out what had happened to me. I feel like I snapped and wanted that bastard’s DNA off me and decided to do something crazy. I felt like I like Robert and Ronnie and I…I…” Lacy looks down.
“You slept with them? Like I keep sleeping with girls because I wish I can erase that man’s DNA off me. I can’t. He did so many things to me that no one can actually erase.” Craig says and looks down as well. Lacy looks at him.
“I feel like a big slut for it. I do like them, but I can’t have them. Maybe I should just give them both up if I can’t choose between them. It wouldn’t be right.” Craig looks at Lacy. She noticed him staring at her.
“How about we start dating?” Lacy couldn’t believe what she heard from Craig. He couldn’t believe what he just had asked her. “I…uh… if you want.” He quickly adds and starts to feel nervous. His face begins to turn red.
“Yes, maybe we should start dating. You are kind of cute.” Lacy smiles a little at Craig. Seeing her smile made Craig blush even more.
It was later in the evening. Robert and Ronnie were unable to find Lacy and head home. When they were walking home, they see Craig dropping Lacy off.
“See you later.” Craig says to her.
“Bye.” Lacy goes in the house. Robert and Ronnie goes over to Craig.
“You better of better not of did what Max said you like to do to girls.” Ronnie says glaring at Craig. He flashes a smile.
“Well…” They both wanted to already beat up Craig.
“YOU BETTER OF NOT!” Robert grabs Craig’s shirt and wanted to beat him already. Ronnie was surprised.
“Hey, let me go.” Craig got himself off of Robert’s grip. “I didn’t fuck her.”
“Then what did you do?” Ronnie asked.
“if it’s really any of you twos business, we just had a casual date. I think Lacy and I are really hitting it off.” Craig smiled and started to walk away. “We decided to start a relationship.” Hearing that crushed Ronnie’s heart. Robert felt speechless. He looked down and couldn’t believe what he heard. He felt like he couldn’t believe Craig.
“He might be lying!” Ronnie quickly added but was already feeling depressed. Robert didn’t say a word. Ronnie and Robert both came into the house.
“Hey, you two are back. Why did you stay gone for so long?” Bryan asked his older brothers. “Max already left.”
“It’s nothing.” Robert responds. Robert and Ronnie were making their way to their bedroom and they saw Lacy.
“I can’t choose between you two. I…I decided to give Craig a chance. I can’t play with you two anymore. I’m not going to be a slut anymore.” Lacy said and then went upstairs to the attic. Hearing that really made Robert felt weird. He never felt the feeling. He ran to his bedroom and shuts the door. Locking it. Ronnie ran to the door and was banging on it.
“Robert! Are you okay?!” Ronnie asked. He felt upset, but he couldn’t change Lacy’s mind. Robert slides down to the floor. Tears were running down his face. He felt crushed.
“Love doesn’t exist.” Was what he mumbled as he continued to cry. Ronnie turned away from the door and lets his back rest against it. He looked down.
“Lacy…”
