It was night time, that very same day. Lacy’s dad had brought Lacy’s bed over and out it upstairs and into Peg’s bedroom. Peg was angry having to share a room with Lacy. Rick was in the living room with Lacy. Peg was upstairs in her bedroom while Pat was in her bedroom.
“Lacy, your mother told me why she couldn’t take care of you. She didn’t know what to do with the fact of what you were doing with those two boys you were living with. Were you really doing that?” Rick asks his daughter. Lacy was on the sofa while Rick was on the chair.
“Yes. I did.” Lacy admits.
“Why did you do that?” Rick asks her.
“It started when my mom’s ex’s boyfriend touched me!” Lacy starts to have tears coming out of her eyes. “I hate him! He kept touching me and grabbing me! Then when mom was at work, he made me…made me…”
“Your mother said he raped you. Is that true?” Rick asks her. Lacy felt so ashamed to answer. “Lacy, it’s alright. You can tell me.”
“Please don’t make me say it! Please!” Lacy says with tears in her eyes.
“Alright, what made you do that with Ronnie and Robert? When Steven touched you, did it make you feel like you were supposed to do that?” Rick asks her.
“I don’t know… I…Robert and Ronnie were so kind to me. Wanted to help me and everything. Then when they did, I moved in with them all. And… I just wanted Steven’s germs off of me! I wanted them off! I tried baths and nothing worked! I still… felt disgusted!” Lacy admits. “Then I thought…Robert and Ronnie could help me get Steven’s DNA off of me. His nasty germs.”
“So, you talked them into sleeping with you?” Rick asks her.
“Dad, I really like both of them. I love Robert and Ronnie. But mom thinks that’s not possible and thinks I don’t know what love is.” Lacy says looking down.
“Lacy, you’ve been growing up a lot since I last saw you. I remember you used to have long hair you wore in pigtails. You would wear cute clothes. But that was when you were just a child. When did you cut your hair and change your clothes style?” Rick asks.
“Steven messed my hair up. I had to get the rest of it cut like it is. He cut piece of my hair on one side, and I just had to fix it.” Lacy admits. “Now my clothes. Robert and Ronnie helped me pick them out and I like them. Please don’t make me get rid of the clothes they bought for me.”
“Lacy, I am not. I am not mad at you either. A little disappointed, but not angry.”
“Why aren’t you angry with me? Mom was.” Lacy asks surprised.
“First of all, you’re young. Teenagers tend to do stupid things sometimes that they regret and don’t mean. It’s how we all learn from our mistakes and grow to be a better person.” Rick explains to Lacy.
“But… I don’t feel like Robert and Ronnie were a mistake. Dad, they both are my best friends, and I love them both so much.” Lacy says.
“I understand. You like them a lot. I don’t care if you still want to hang out with those boys. Talk to them, hang out, I don’t care.”
“You don’t?” Lacy asked.
“No. I just don’t want you doing nasty stuff with them anymore. Alright? No kissing, no grabbing, touching. No more sex with them. I know you’re a teenager, you get horny. But no.” Rick tells her. Lacy looks down.
“Dad, would you hate me if I ended up being with one of them when I am an adult?”
“No I would not. Now if you end up living with them both in your alls own place I may be concern, but I wouldn’t be able to tell you what to do when you become an adult.” Rick laughs. “If those boys would grow up and accept that. Now, you get rest and try to be happy.” Rick got up and left the living room. Lacy was a little confused about the whole conversation. She didn’t get punished, which confused her.
Madison was worried about Katie. She called her up. “Katie, this is Madison. I know you probably wouldn’t want to talk to me, but… I am worried about you.”
“It’s okay. Craig really helped make me feel better. He’s a good friend.” Katie tells Madison.
“Did Robert really… break up with you?” Madison just had to ask. She was so curious if he did.
“Yes, but I am not going to worry about that anymore. One day, I will find that right guy for me. And when I do, it will be really special.” Katie tells Madison. “So, I am giving Robert up. He’s just a crush, not true love.”
“Oh.” Madison was a little surprised to hear that from her best friend.
“What about you liking Ronnie?” Katie asks. Madison blushes.
“I don’t know!” Madison wasn’t sure how to respond to that.
“You’re young. It’s probably just a crush too. But crushes are nice to have.” Katie said and laughed a little. “I bet I am still going to be crushing on more guys after I give up my crush on Robert.”
“Maybe so, but are you sure you’re okay?” Madison asks concern for her friend.
“I am just fine. After I talked with Craig, I am feeling a lot better. At first, I was hurt. But I knew it was coming. I always knew Robert never was in love with me. I just knew it. I felt it in my heart, you know? Now do you feel like in your heart Ronnie really likes you?” Katie asks.
“I am not sure…” Madison responds. She didn’t know. He didn’t really talk to her.
Two weeks have gone by. Just quickly like that. In those two weeks, Robert and Ronnie still talked to Lacy and even went to visit her sometimes. When they did, Peg would always be annoying, and they didn’t like her. She tried to flirt with Robert multiple times, but he didn’t want her. It was weird, Peg was friends with Nikki. James’s friend as well. Lacy wondered if James knew about Peg or how if he did, but never asked him or her. She didn’t even know Peg’s age. She just assumed Peg was just about the same age as James. Also, in those two weeks, Lacy actually became friends with Alana.
Alana kept sitting at the table with Robert, Ronnie, Lacy, Katie, Max, and Craig when it was lunch time. Lacy and her just started talking and actually became friends. Alana was still friends with Katie and Madison as well.
Craig had come home from hanging with Max. He saw his dad come over to him with a smile on his face.
“What’s the matter?” Craig asks his dad.
“Well, I am happy. I have been doing excellent lately and I am getting a place for you and Sabrina!” Huntley smiles. Craig felt happy.
“For real?!” Craig asked.
“Yes, we won’t be staying at your grandparents any longer. In fact, were moving today. Get packed.” Craig felt excited. He went to the guest room and went straight away to packing. Sabrina was also packing her things.
“Isn’t it great?” Sabrina asks her older brother.
“Yes, it is great.”
“We finally getting a home. I heard that grandma and grandpa helped dad out a little with getting it. Dad also has a job and is doing a lot better. Do you think he finally will stop drinking so much?” Sabrina asks.
“I am hoping so. I wonder if dad will ever get a hold of mom?” Craig wanted to see his mother. He haven’t seen her in a long time. He wished that she could be found so that they can be a happy family again.
“I don’t remember much about mom. It’s been so long. Hasn’t it?” Sabrina asks. Craig nods.
“Mom was always so sweet. I hope dad can find her. I heard that he’s been searching for her.”
“I want to see mom again too.” Sabrina smiles. She was hoping her dad will find her mom. She missed her so much and wanted to see her again.
Huntley was in the kitchen with his parents. “Did you ever get a hold of Benita?” Huntley’s mother asks.
“Well, don’t tell the children. I recently found out what had happened to her.” Huntley replies.
“Oh, don’t tell me something bad happened to her.” Huntley’s mother looked upset. She was hoping Benita was alright.
“She…well… how can I put this? When she was with me, I feel like a jerk for throwing her out. I really love Benita. I should have trusted her of what she said about my retarded brother. I can’t believe that he did that to her. Trying to get her to shoot up with drugs and then repeatedly was raping her. She tried to tell me and I didn’t believe it.”
“It’s not your fault. Don’t blame yourself.” Huntley’s dad says. “Besides, your brother is in prison. He can’t harm your children anymore. He can’t harm Benita too. Now what happened to Benita?”
“Well, since he kept making her shoot that shit up, she got hooked on drugs when I kicked her out. She was arrested twice with possession of drugs.”
“Oh my.” Huntley’s mother said surprised. “Is she off of that now?”
“They have her in a rehab trying to get her some help. I am thinking of going to see her and try to apologize. I need to. Hopefully, we can just get back together. We’re still married too.”
“You both never divorced?” Huntley’s dad asks.
“I never had a heart to do that to her. I felt so bad for kicking her out. I didn’t believe what she told me. I just caught her shooting up, I thought I should protect the children and kick her out.”
“Just try to talk to her and apologize. It may help her.” Huntley’s mother tells him.
“Yes, tomorrow morning I am going to see her.” Huntley tells his parents. He then went to go pack his things.
Max was in his bedroom playing his PS2. “I haven’t seen my parents in a while now. I don’t think my grandpa would like it if I were to try to see them. I know my parents were wanting to take custody of me back. I don’t know if they will or not.” Max thought to himself. He turned his game off and sits his controller down. He left his bedroom and went looking around the house.
“Maybe grandpa is out? Then I can sneak away to see my parents.” Max thought. Max puts his shoes on and coat on. He then was about to open the front door, but his grandpa came into the living room.
“Where do you think you’re going?” He asks Max.
“I just wanted to go out and get fresh air.” Max lied. He didn’t want to tell his grandpa the truth of what he wanted to really do.
“I know you’re lying.” Max’s grandpa, Nelson just knew his grandson was lying to him.
“Look! I want to see my parents! I don’t give a fuck what you tell me! They’re my parents! How would you like it if you had a damn grandpa that wouldn’t let you see your parents?! Would you like it?!” Max got angry with his grandpa.
“Don’t you dare talk like that to me!” Nelson snapped back at Max.
“Go to hell.” Max said opening the door.
“Don’t you dare walk out that door!” Nelson yelled but Max did. He ran off.
