Two weeks have gone by and everything just seemed to be okay. Everything was settled against Lacy and Steven and he was in sent in prison for child molestation. Lacy was a minor. It was a typical day at school, and Robert and Ronnie were eating lunch together with Lacy.
“So, is everything okay living with us?” Ronnie asked Lacy.
“It’s fine…” Lacy lied. She didn’t tell him how she was having nightmares lately of Steven. When she would wake up from the nightmares, she would play it off cool in front of her mother not wanting to worry her. She didn’t want anyone knowing she was having nightmares.
“Everything is okay. Steven is in prison now.” Robert reassures her. Lacy felt a little relief, but she still felt scared and afraid. Two boys came over.
“Hey, gorgeous.” The short light brown hair boy said. It was the boys that Bryan met in the school library. Max and Craig. Robert and Ronnie didn’t know the boys.
“Hey, aren’t you Robert and Ronnie? We have algebra together.” Craig said. He had darker brown hair that was to his shoulders and wore a hat.
“I guess?” Ronnie replies not noticing him.
“Now beautiful, can I sit by you?” Max asked and just sits down anyways between Robert and Lacy.
“Leave me alone.” Lacy glares at Max.
“Why so heartless?” He asked.
“Because I don’t like you.” She answers. Craig sits down next to Ronnie.
“Why are you two over here?” Ronnie asked confused.
“You both look a lot like some kid we met in the library. Little dude looking for a book. He had his hair to the side covering his eye.” Craig explain.
“Oh, you mean Bryan? He’s our little brother. Are you the two guys that helped him get his book he wanted?” Ronnie asked.
“Sure was.” Craig smiles.
“Anyways, I’m over here because I’m having a party and I invite you two.” Max said handing them all invitations. “It’s at my place. The address is on the invitation along with time. I am throwing a party while my grandpa is on a business trip.”
“Should you be doing that?” Robert asks him.
“He don’t mind. I do it all the time. He just tells me to clean up afterwards. It will be fun. Chicks, cigarettes, and plenty of beer.” Max laughs.
“But aren’t we underage?” Lacy asks.
“Who the hell cares, It’s not like I do.” Max laughed.
After school, Robert, Ronnie, Bryan, and Lacy were walking home from school. “You going to that party?” Lacy asked.
“I don’t know.” Ronnie answers.
“What party?” Bryan asked curiously. James ran over to all of them.
“Don’t leave me!” He said and began to walk at their pace now.
“You took too long.” Lacy mumbles but James didn’t say anything.
“Max and Craig are throwing a party, no children. Just teenagers allowed.” Robert tells Bryan.
“Those two you met in the library."
“Oh. Really? Am I allowed to go?” Bryan asked.
“No. You’re a kid. Not a teenager.” Robert answered honestly.
“For teenagers, the party is probably a make out party. Lacy, I dare say that you mustn’t go to some indecent party as this. Mother will be furious. And correction, we all are kids.” James said but Lacy ignored him.
At the home, Brice and Abbilynn was at work. All of them went inside to do homework. Robert, Ronnie, and Lacy were in the bedroom together. In Robert’s and Ronnie’s bedroom.
“Should we work on homework?” Ronnie asked.
“Forget it.” Lacy said and looked the other way. “If my dad never left. If he never left and my mom was with him. Steven would have never…never…” Lacy thinks to herself. She felt upset.
“Hey, you aren’t pregnant by that Steven guy are you?” Robert asks Lacy. Lacy stared at him and looked the other way. “Hey, are you okay?”
“The…the police gave me birth control. But I…”
“But you what?” Robert asked.
“I didn’t take it.” Lacy answered honestly.
“Why not?” Ronnie asked. “You want that bastard’s kid?”
“I…I don’t think I’m pregnant or will be.” Lacy said and quickly got up and ran out of the bedroom.
“I think you made her feel uneasy.” Ronnie said to Robert. Robert didn’t respond. It was dinner time.
“I had a hard day at work today. My feet are killing me.” Abbilynn sighed and took a bite of her food.
“Soaking in the bath might help.” Brice suggests to Abbilynn. Lacy was staring down and was eating slowly.
“I feel just weird. I wish daddy was here.” Lacy thinks to herself. Soon it was after dinner and Robert and Ronnie were in their bedroom.
“Let’s go to that party.” Ronnie suggested to his brother.
“Alright.” Robert agrees. “Want to take Lacy too?”
“We’ll ask her.” Ronnie said and they both left the bedroom and went looking for Lacy. They found her cleaning the dishes in the kitchen. “Want to go to that party with us?” Ronnie asked her.
“I don’t know.” Lacy responds.
“It will be fun.” Ronnie reassures her.
“I am not sure if I want to go to a party. You two can go.” Lacy tells them not even looking at them.
“Let’s go.” Ronnie tells Robert. Robert was confused on why Lacy didn’t want to come with them. They both left the house. Lacy finished up the dishes and then went upstairs to the attic. She sat down on her bed. Her mother wasn’t in the attic with her. She was alone.
“I feel so stupid…” Lacy thinks to herself remembering what happened between her and Steven. “I didn’t want my first time to be with him. I rather would have had someone my age.”
Lacy laid down and was feeling upset. She didn’t want anyone seeing her like this at the moment.
Robert and Ronnie had gone to the party. Max lets them in his house. “Welcome. I’m glad you two came. Now where’s that hot girl?” Max asked.
“She didn’t want to come.” Ronnie answered.
“What a shame.” Max sighs. When Robert and Ronnie got into the house there were a lot of teenagers in there. Loud music was also playing. There was a lot of dancing.
“I can’t believe this is actually a house.” Ronnie mumbles. A girl walks over to Robert.
“Wanna dance?” She asks him.
“No.” Robert answers. The girl glares and walks away.
“Why did you turn that girl down?” Ronnie asks. “She had some potential. She may of not had big boobs but at least she had some. Most of these girls at this party are flat.”
“I don’t want her.” Robert replies honestly and picked up a drink and starts drinking it. “I feel like I shouldn’t of came here.”
“Craig, why are you dancing with that high schooler?” Max asked noticing that Craig was indeed dancing with a high school girl.
“Because. She’s fine.” Craig replies with a wink. Max felt jealous.
“No fair! Then I’ll ask an older girl too!” Max went over to another high school girl who was dancing. “Want to dance with me, sugar?” Max asked.
“Ew! A disgusting toad!” The girl pushes Max and makes him knock into some other girl.
“Ew! He touched me! Ew!” Another girl said in a valley girl tone of voice. She pushes Max and he hits himself against the wall.
“This is not fair! At my own party and being dissed by all these girls!” Max said feeling angry. Robert was slowly drinking his drink, but Ronnie already had two drinks. A girl came over to him.
“Hey sweet thing.” Ronnie said drunkly. He was drunk off the beer that was being served.
Robert slaps him and the girl walks away.
“You’re drunk. You need to go home.” Robert said staring at Ronnie.
“Who the hell cares.” Ronnie said and hiccupped. Craig stopped dancing with a girl and came over to them both.
“What’s the matter with him?” Craig asked Robert noticing Ronnie was acting strange.
“Shut the hell up… I am just fine.” Ronnie almost tripped and Robert grabbed him.
“Should I let him be a fool or what?” Robert asks.
“Let him.” Craig smiles and laughed a little. Robert lets Ronnie walk away.
“Hey cutie.” Ronnie grabs a blond girl. He brought her close to him as if he was about to kiss her. The girl slaps him.
“See? Look how funny it is.” Craig laughs looking at Ronnie. Robert felt embarrassed by Ronnie.
Lacy was sitting on her bed. She was crying in the attic. “I am a stupid girl! If I let them help me… That wouldn’t happen.” Lacy was upset. “But if daddy didn’t leave this all never would of never happened. Daddy…” Lacy was attached to her father, but he left her mother when Lacy was young. James was just a baby and didn’t remember his father at all.
Lacy laid down and was hugging her pillow. “Daddy…”
