“Lacy do you understand what I said? Are you alright?” Alana asks. Lacy had tears running down her face.
“I do! I really love Robert the most! I remember when I was with Ronnie… dating him! I kept missing Robert! When I was pregnant with Ronnie’s baby I was hurt because I didn’t want a baby! And then I felt so guilty when it passed! Then when I was in the middle of making love to Ronnie I freaking said Robert’s name! I was thinking of Robert! I couldn’t stop myself! I mainly kept wanting Robert! I loved him so much! I loved when he was inside me the most! I loved being alone with him! I love it all! Then when I got back together with them both I lied! I lied to Ronnie and he’s probably going to hate me for it! I lied because I felt like I didn’t want to hurt him! Robert went along with me too! I lied saying I said his name while I was making love with Robert! I never did!” Lacy admits as she was crying. “The whole time I was just with Robert I only thought of the fact that I made Ronnie upset! I was missing him yes, hell I was! But…! I really was so upset because I felt like I betrayed him and hurt him!”
“Lacy…” Alana walks over to Lacy and pulled some tissues out of her purse. She hands them to Lacy as she was wiping her nose. “I think telling Ronnie the truth will be a lot better than lying to him. You wouldn’t want to have a relationship with him that’s based on a lie, would you?”
“I am a big jerk.”
“Lacy, you sometimes may seem cold to others but to me you don’t really seem like a big jerk.” Alana said. Lacy tried drying her years. “But… You finally found out who you truly had feelings for. It was buried deep inside because you were afraid of hurting Ronnie.” Lacy nods. “The whole time you were getting upset and angry with everyone when they kept telling you that you love one more than the other was getting to you probably because your conscience was trying to tell you that it’s true.”
“I…I think so. Is it wrong that I love Robert more? I love Ronnie too and he will always be important to me, but is it wrong to love Robert the most?” Lacy asks. Alana shook her head.
“No. It’s not. It’s normal. There’s nothing wrong with loving Robert the most. I think the whole reason why Robert had a hard time dating other girls was because he loves you a lot too. I mean, I heard from the others that Robert tried to date Katie and some girl name ‘Stephanie’, but… he couldn’t go through with it because he loved you so much.”
“Robert… believed that love never existed before. I think it’s because of his parents.”
“And you’re the one that changed his mind about that.” Alana smiles at Lacy. “Be happy that you love him. Tell him. Start a relationship. I am so happy to have Max in my life. I admit, I used to have a crush on Craig when I first met him. But… over time I realized my feelings. I love Max.” Alana admits.
“Oh…” Lacy was no longer crying. “I feel like you’re my best friend that’s a female. Katie and Madison sometimes… uh… well… I don’t hate them. I admit, I used to be so jealous when Katie had a crush on Robert.” Alana giggles a little.
“See how much things can change in such short amount of time?”
“I know.” Lacy agrees. They both started to walk again. “What are you and Max going to do if you get pregnant?”
“I…well…” Alana blushes. “He acts like he wants to take care of me if that were to happen, but… I made him promise me again no more of…sleeping together until we’re at least engaged.”
“That might be a while from now.” Lacy laughed. “Robert once told me that he thinks he’s infertile. I don’t know, I did that with him the most and never got pregnant.”
“Hmm… Who knows. I guess don’t worry about it.” Alana tells her friend.
Robert got up. He sat up in bed. He still felt tired and sick. “I hate this heat…” He mumbles and got out of bed. He went downstairs and into the living room. He saw Bryan watching cartoons still. “You still watching that?”
“Is that a problem?” Bryan glared at Robert. “If you’re wondering, dad is out with his girlfriend. Ronnie left too. Wanted to hang with Max and Craig I think.”
“And you didn’t go along?”
“I wanted to… But… I thought you shouldn’t be left home alone if you’re sick.”
“I am not sick, it’s just the heat…” Robert sat down on the sofa. He noticed it felt cooler in the living room because the air conditioner was on.
“So you’re cool with letting me leave to Craig’s?” Bryan asks.
“Sure. Whatever.” Robert didn’t bother to care right now. He was enjoying the air. Bryan had left. He went to go hang with Craig, Max, and Ronnie.
Alana and Lacy made it to the Luxton’s home. “Why are we here?” Lacy asked confused. She didn’t realize that her and Alana had walked to Robert’s and Ronnie’s home.
“I think you should talk to one of them.” Alana responded. The both of them got there after Bryan already left.
“I don’t know…” Lacy looks down.
“It’s okay, don’t worry. Nothing bad will happen.” Alana wanted Lacy to feel better. “I am going now.” Alana walks off. Lacy stared at the house.
“Everything…” Lacy turned and looked at the house next door. It was Steven’s home. No one even bothered to move in it since Steven had went to prison. “It’s been almost a year… In that short amount of time… So many things just happened.” Lacy walks over to the house that her family used to live in. “It feels so weird looking at this house. I just kept ignoring it every time…” Lacy thought to herself. Lacy went to the back door. She touched the door knob.
“I first met Robert and Ronnie…” Lacy turned the door knob. To her surprise the door was unlocked. She stepped into the house. Staring at an empty house. It was empty. It was weird. Lacy just walked around the house. “The kitchen, living room, bathroom.” Lacy went upstairs and found her bedroom. “I hate this bedroom the most.” She thought to herself. “I hate this house.” Lacy wasn’t sure why she came in there and was just looking around. She really shouldn’t be in the house because it was trespassing. Lacy walks downstairs and went out of the house. She closed the backdoor. She stared at the other home. It was Robert’s and Ronnie’s home.
“I want to… Tell them… But… At the same time I am too scared to. I don’t want things to change.” Lacy went to the front door and knocked. After a few knocks, she rang the doorbell when she got no answer. Robert wasn’t sure who was at the door.
“This better be good.” Robert thought. He had passed out on the sofa but was woke up by the doorbell. He went to the front door. He unlocked and opened it. He was surprised to see Lacy. “What are you doing here?” Robert asks her.
“I…I… Hey.” Lacy wasn’t even sure what to say. She started to feel nervous. “C-Can I come in?”
“Sure.” Robert lets her in and shuts the door. “I feel like the heat has been getting to me today. I keep sleeping.” Robert admits.
“I went to hang with Alana today. I also hung with Madison and Katie. We went to the mall for a bit, but I talked to Alana while walking back.
“Are you alright?” Robert asked her. “You did say you wanted a break? Did you change your mind?” Lacy just stared at Robert. She felt like she wanted to just wrap her arms around him. Robert blushes and was a little surprised when Lacy did. She wrapped her arms around him. Hugging him and brought him close to her. “L-Lacy?”
“Robert… I love you. I love you!” Lacy blushes. She brought her face close to his and kisses him. Once again, the kiss was full of passion. Robert liked it. He stopped thinking about how sick he felt and started kissing her back. Their kiss got more intense and he pushed her to the wall. Lacy felt like the kiss was going out of control when she felt him slip his tongue in her mouth. Lacy felt her heart beating fast. Her face was red. Lacy slowly lets go of Robert and their lips part.
“You love Ronnie too, don’t you?” Robert asks her. She nods slowly.
“I…I love you and Ronnie, but…” Lacy wasn’t sure if she should just confess to Robert. She wasn’t even sure how to break the news to Ronnie. She didn’t want to hurt him. That’s the very thing she knew it would end up doing. “I love you!” Lacy just blurts out.
“Yes, but you love Ronnie too.” Robert said. Lacy felt like her heart was going to rip out of her chest. She took a deep breath and swallowed hard.
“I love you the most!” She managed to blurt out of her mouth. Robert stared at her confused.
“The most?” He asked. “What do you mean you love me the most? Is this one of your pretend things just because Ronnie isn’t around?” Robert asks. He liked hearing the words but he felt like she was probably just saying she liked him the most just to make him feel good since Ronnie wasn’t around.
“NO!” Lacy felt like this was torture to her. Confessing her true feelings and he wasn’t even noticing.
“No?” Robert was still confused with Lacy. She felt like she was starting to get angry with him. She slapped him.
“NO! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU THE MOST! DON’T YOU GET IT?!” Lacy blurted out loud. Robert wasn’t sure why she slapped him but was blushing at her words.
“A-Are you for real?” He asked. Lacy looks down. She felt better telling Robert but at the same time she was feeling upset because she knew Ronnie was going to get his feelings hurt. She pushed Robert away from her. “Lacy, you been acting weird lately. Is something the matter? Do you really mean that you love me the most?” Robert asks curiously.
