“Lacy, I can’t be with him. He left me and is still with the woman that he left me for!” Abbilynn tells her daughter.
“Mom! Please! Just talk to him! And dad, please talk to mom. Tell her the truth of what happened. Fix this.” Lacy said and went into James’ bedroom. James was working on his laptop. He stopped typing and looked at his older sister. He was surprised that she was there and surprised she would want to come into his bedroom.
“Is there something I can help you with?” James asks her.
“No. I brought dad over so that him and mom can make up. They fought over something really silly. Well, actually dad was blackmailed just to leave mom.” Lacy tells her brother.
“That’s preposterous!”
“It’s the truth. A woman named ‘Pat’ told dad to leave our mom and go with her or she would get him for child support and make his life miserable. Apparently, dad slept with this woman sometime ago as a teenager and the woman claimed that her daughter ‘Peg’ was his kid.” Lacy tried to explain.
“Peg? I know a Peg.” James said surprised.
“You do?” Lacy asks.
“Yes indeed. She is a fine, nice girl. She is quite older than Nikki and I, but she likes to spend time with the two of us. She’s our friend.” James explains.
“What does she look like?” Lacy asked. She wanted to know if it was the same Peg.
“She has black hair, green eyes. Short hair in braids.” James explained.
“Really? That sounds just like the brat I been living with. She isn’t sweet!” James couldn’t believe it.
“Peg might be our half sister!” James says surprised.
Abbilynn was looking down. Rick tried to explain everything to her. She was facing Rick. “Rick, you left me because of that? Why did you cheat on me when we were teenagers? I don’t understand.” Abbilynn looked like she was going to cry.
“Please, Abbi, I am sorry. It was wrong of me and I realized not too long later I loved you. I still love you. I wanted to marry you when I found out I was in love. I was a foolish teenager. And a foolish adult. When Pat just took my life I was being mean to you and it was wrong of me. I wanted to tell you the truth. I always did, but… I was afraid you would’ve left me anyways.” Rick says and touches Abbilynn’s face. Making her look at him.
“Rick, what if this girl really is your daughter? You’ll have to pay child support.” Abbilynn says.
“I am ready to face up for what I have to do. But… I really want us to be back together. That’s why I never wanted to file for divorce. I want to be with you. I really do.” Rick brought Abbilynn close to him. She blushes.
“I… I tried to date after you left. I dated Steven. Some stupid man. He hurt our daughter and now he’s in prison. Then there was my next boyfriend, Brice. We went to school with him. He was our friend. Remember?”
“You were dating him?” Rick asked.
“Yes, but it didn’t even last long. I broke up with him because Lacy likes his sons a lot and I couldn’t stop thinking of you.”
“Abbi, I know you probably kissed those guys but did you… did you ever sleep with them?” Rick asked Abbilynn a personal question. She was nervous to respond.
“Y-You slept with Pat, did you not?”
“I…I didn’t really sleep with her when I went to live with her. She was too busy having her affairs with other men.” Rick admits.
“Oh… Well… I… When I was with Steven, he kept trying to do that with me but I didn’t let him. Because I really wasn’t in love with him.”
“Now with Brice?” Rick asked.
“Rick can we please not talk about that. I honestly don’t want to speak about it.”
“You slept with him didn’t you?” Rick seemed like he was angry. Abbilynn noticed it. Rick was jealous.
“Rick, please. No. I didn’t. We almost did, but… I told him ‘no’.” Abbilynn admits. Rick was surprised. Rick pulls Abbilynn’s face close to his and kisses her. She was surprised at first but ended kissing his lips back. Lacy and James peaked into the living room.
“Are mom and dad getting back together?” James asked Lacy.
“I hope.” Lacy says.
Bryan staring at the classroom photo. He stared at Madison on the photo. “She was so cute on picture day.” Bryan thought to himself. He blushes as he stared at the photo. “I want to tell Madison how I feel… But… No! I can’t! She will just laugh at me. She wouldn’t want someone like me. All I like is childish toys.” Bryan looked at his room. The bedroom was full of stuff animals. Mainly teddy bears. Bryan liked teddy bears and really didn’t want to throw them out.
“But Madison likes childish things herself, so she should get mad should she?” Bryan was confused. He laid down on his bed. “Oh, who am I kidding? Madison wouldn’t want to date me. I bet she is into someone else. Or maybe she isn’t into anyone at all. Maybe were too young to date. I can’t really understand all this…”
Abbilynn and Rick just wouldn’t stop kissing. Lacy and James were surprised. “Do you think they’ll get more into it or stop?” Lacy asks.
“We should not be staring at this.” James stopped looking and went back typing on his laptop. He was working on an extra credit assignment for school. Lacy stilled peaked at her mom and dad. She was happy to finally see them together again. Not fighting. Abbilynn and Rick part lips.
“I can’t…believe that.” Abbilynn said and blushes. “We should stop kissing.”
“We don’t have to.” Rick pushes Abbilynn to the wall. “We can just have each other like we did before. Just like old times. I missed you so freaking much.”
“Rick! Control yourself! Our children are in the other room!” Abbilynn blushed. “I wished I had a bedroom but I don’t here.”
“Dad is so nasty.” Lacy thought to herself. “But I am glad he’s not fighting with mom. Maybe James and I really should leave them alone, but where can James and I go? I really don’t want to go back to that house with those crazy people. What should we do? We all can’t just live in this tiny apartment. It wouldn’t be right.” Lacy stopped peaking at her parents.
“Rick, I love you so much!” Abbilynn hugs Rick. “Please don’t leave me again!”
“I don’t plan to. I want to be with you. Fuck Pat.” Rick says.
“I’ll forgive your past. That’s in the past.” Abbilynn says to him. “I remember we were so happy before when Lacy was a baby.”
“Yeah.” Rick smiles at Abbilynn and she smiled back at him. “I need to go back with Lacy to pack our things. I am going to give my parents a call and maybe stay there until we all can move into a place together. Alright?”
“That would be fine, but please spend nights here with Lacy. Also, James and I will spend nights with your parents too. I really want you to know about our son. He really is smart. You never really got to know him growing up.”
“Alright.” Rick kisses Abbilynn and she kisses his lips back. “Lacy, time to go!” Lacy came out of the bedroom.
“Are we leaving already?” Lacy asks confused.
“We need to pack our things, I am going to discuss what has been happening with my parents, your grandparents. Hopefully, they will let us stay with them until we all can get a place together again.” Rick explains to Lacy.
“Alright.” Lacy and Rick had left. Abbilynn touches her chest where her heart was. Her heart was beating fast.
“Rick… He’s talking to me again. He said he loves me. Does he really? Are we really getting back together again?” Abbilynn wondered. She felt happy hearing that he wanted to be with her. But she started to worry about what Pat was trying to do to him. “I hope that kid really isn’t his. Then we can just forget all this and live life where we left off. But… If it is his kid, how am I supposed to react? This kid is older than Lacy. Lacy is going to be 15 in April. This girl is most likely 16 or going to be 17 right? I know I got pregnant young with Lacy. But Rick and I got married young too.”
“I remember it. Before he left and started being mean to me, we were discussing about a third baby. Even though James was a newborn. We were talking about wanting more children.”
Within a week, Rick and Lacy had moved out. They moved in with Rick’s parents. Rick and Abbilynn seem to be happy with each other and often went on dates, which made Lacy happy for them. Rick had did a DNA test with Peg. It was proven she was his daughter and that he will be paying child support to Pat. But he was also working on trying to take custody of Peg when he was able to get a place. Lacy also had gone to her doctor’s appointment. She felt like she was scared. She didn’t know what to do. Her parents were trying to help and support her and not yell at her during this time.
Lacy was at school. She was laying on the bed in the nurse’s office. She felt tired and not too good. She already threw up too. “You don’t have a fever. What could it be?” The nurse said after she took Lacy’s temperature. Lacy turned her head.
“I am not sick. I know what it is.” Lacy mumbles. She felt embarrassed. She sat up.
“You shouldn’t sit up if you don’t feel too good.” The nurse tells Lacy.
“I am fine.” Lacy says. “I know I am not sick. I just came in here to rest.” Lacy admits.
“Then what is the matter with you?” The nurse asked her. Lacy didn’t want to tell her. She looked the other way. Robert and Ronnie came into the nurse’s office.
“You feeling alright?” Ronnie asks Lacy.
“She doesn’t a have a fever, that’s good.” The nurse said.
“Is she allowed to go back to class?” Robert asked.
“I am not sure, sometimes people can be sick without a fever.”
“I am not sick! I’ll go back to class.” Lacy stood up. She felt exhausted. All she wanted to do was rest and sleep.
“We’ll help her to class and if she still doesn’t feel good will bring her back.” Robert tells the nurse.
“Alright.” The nurse agrees to it. Robert and Ronnie left with Lacy out of the nurse’s office.
