Robert, Ronnie, and Bryan had came home. Before they even got into the house, they heard yelling. “WHAT THE HELL DO YOU EXPECT FROM KIDS?!” Brice yelled.
“I THINK YOU ARE A DUMBASS FOR LETTING THEM DO WHAT THEY WANT! I SAY BEAT THEM WHEN THEY ACT UP! I HATE YOU!” Peggy yells at Brice.
“I KINDA FIGURED THAT WHEN YOU CHEATED ON ME SO MANY DIFFERENT TIMES!”
“SO WHAT?! YOU SLEPT WITH YOUR BOSS!” Robert and Ronnie couldn’t believe what they were hearing.
“What’s mommy and daddy fighting for?” Bryan asked looking scared.
“I have no idea.” Robert answered.
“PEGGY, I ONLY DID THAT WHEN I FOUND OUT YOU CHEATED ON ME THREE DIFFERENT TIMES!” Brice shouts. Robert opened the door. Ronnie and Bryan went into the house. Robert went in last and shuts the door behind him.
Bryan sat his backpack down. Ronnie went to the kitchen and went to get a drink. Robert followed. Bryan was staring at his parents. Peggy slaps Brice.
“YOU BASTARD! I HATE YOU!” She was angry. Bryan was getting scared seeing them.
“Don’t slap me.” Brice glares at Peggy.
“WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?!” Peggy starts hitting him. Brice couldn’t take it and pushes her away from him. Brice began to get more scared. He screams and ran off. Running out of the house.
“Stop it!” Brice was angry with Peggy. “You scared Bryan!”
“Oh shut up. I’m out of here.” Peggy leaves. Robert came into the living room.
“What just happened?” He asked.
“Bryan ran off. He got scared I think.” Brice says looking the other way.
“Aren’t you going after him?” Robert asks.
“I scared him too.” Brice says feeling bad. Robert sighed.
“Alright, I’ll get Bryan and bring him home.” Robert left. He went searching for Bryan.
“He probably didn’t go far, knowing how his body is. I can’t believe he just took off. Did he run?” Robert didn’t have to walk far. He did found Bryan. He was crying sitting outside on a sidewalk. “Let’s go home.”
“No! Everyone is being scary!” Bryan cried.
“There is no one fighting anymore. I think that bitch left. Let’s go home.” Robert didn’t want to stay out longer than he had to. He just wanted to get him and bring him home.
“I’m s-scared! Are they going to hurt me! Why are they always fighting?!” Bryan had a lot of tears running down his face. “My body hurts!” Robert sat down by Bryan.
“You want to know? I don’t know. I think it’s because they don’t get along. They have problems in their marriage. It’s not our fault. It’s between the both of them. We don’t need to worry about that, because no matter what, you’re going to have someone take care of you.” Robert tells Bryan. He still cried. “No one is going to hurt you. Mom may have tried many attempts but we stopped her didn’t we?” Bryan stared at Robert.
“Yes. You have.” Bryan was wiping his eyes. “Am I stupid for running away?”
“No. You aren’t stupid.”
“I just…just hope they don’t fight anymore. Why is mom mean? Why does she hate me and everyone?” Bryan asked curiously.
“She’s a bitch. Don’t worry about her. Let’s go home.” Robert said standing up. Bryan just stared. He then turned his head and looked the other way. He was no longer crying, but something else seemed to be bothering him. “What’s the matter now?”
“Is our mom and daddy not going to live together forever?”
“I wished. But dad keeps going back to her.” Robert held his hand out for Bryan. Bryan turned his head and stared. He grabbed his hand and gets up. “Don’t worry about too much stuff.”
At home, Ronnie was with his dad in the living room. “You fight too much with mom.” Ronnie said and sat down on the sofa. He sits his drink on the coffee table.
“I can’t seem to make it work with her.” Brice said sighing and then sitting in the chair next to the sofa.
“Then divorce her. If you two can’t make it work. Divorce her. She cheated on you many times, right?” Ronnie asks. Brice didn’t respond. “And hell you cheated on her once. Your marriage is broken. Either find a counselor for your marriage or divorce.” Ronnie did have a point. Brice wasn’t sure what to do.
“Ronnie, your mother and I did went to see a counselor twice before.”
“You did? Your marriage is still broken. Maybe it’s time you divorced.” Ronnie picked up the remote control on the coffee table and turned the TV on.
“Maybe a divorce is the answer.” Brice mumbles to himself. Robert and Bryan came home. When they got home, Brice got up and went over to Bryan. Robert went to the sofa and sits down by Ronnie and was watching TV. “Bryan, can I speak with you?” Brice asked his son.
“What is it?” Bryan asked staring up at his dad.
“I wanted to tell you that no matter how much your mother and I have been fighting, nothing will happen to you. No one will hurt you. You’ll be taken care of. Remember that. And I am sorry for what you saw.” Brice wanted Bryan to feel better. He didn’t want him to be sad or scared.
“I’m…I’m okay now.” Bryan tells his dad.
“That’s good to hear. Wasn’t you running a fever?” Brice asked and touched Bryan’s forehead.
“The nurse said that, but I feel fine.” Bryan lied. He did felt tired, but being scared about the fight made him forget about his fever.
“Let me go check your temperature.” Brice said and went to the bathroom. He pulled a thermometer out of the medicine cabinet. He then went back to the living room and hands it to Bryan. “Put it in your mouth.”
“I know how to use it.” Bryan said and listened to what his dad told him. The thermometer beeped. Bryan took it out and Brice takes it from him.
“You do have a fever. Go lay down.”
“I’m fine. I have no fever!” Bryan glares and went to the sofa and sat down by his brothers.
“Hey, sick boy. Go to sleep.” Ronnie said staring at Bryan. “Isn’t he sick?”
“I am not!” Bryan didn’t want to go lay down. He wanted to hang with his older brothers.
“He refuses to lay down.” Brice says and laughed a little. “I need to go back to work. Alright?”
“It’s fine.” Robert tells his dad. Brice left. Bryan was feeling tired and dizzy as he sat there next to Ronnie and Robert.
“Are you sure you’re fine?” Ronnie asks Bryan. Bryan nods. He wasn’t’ feeling okay. Robert stared at Bryan and could see it.
“You need to lay down.” Robert said staring at his little brother.
“No.” Bryan didn’t want to. His eyes were shutting. Robert stood up. He then picked up Bryan off the sofa. “Hey! Put me down!”
“No. You’re going to bed if you like it or not. You’re sick.” Robert takes Bryan to his bed to lay down. He was putting Bryan’s blanket on him.
“I don’t want to sleep.” Bryan says childishly.
“You need rest. Don’t you want to get better?” Robert asked. Bryan didn’t respond. He was already asleep. Robert flashes a little smile and then left the bedroom. Robert went into the living room.
“Did you put that rugrat to sleep?” Ronnie asked.
“Yeah, he passed right out.” Robert answered Ronnie got up and went to the kitchen.
“Good. I need a beer.” He went to the kitchen and Robert followed him. When they got in there, Ronnie opened the fridge and was pulling beer out that was his dad’s. Robert happened to look out the window. He saw a family that looked like they were moving in next door.
“Hey, is someone moving next door?” Robert asked.
“Who cares. Probably some jackass with a slut wife. If they got kids then their probably a much of little shit heads.” Ronnie said and sits a can of beer on the counter. He pulled another out. “Want one?”
“Sure.” Robert agreed but was still looking out the window. Ronnie grabbed another beer and sits it on the counter next to the other. He then shuts the fridge.
He stared at Robert. “Why are you so curious about some retarded family?” Ronnie asked. He happened to look out the window. He saw a woman out there picking up a box. “Damn. That’s a hot woman.” Ronnie blurted out. “Is that who you’re staring at? That woman with the big tits?”
“No.” Robert answered. Ronnie kept staring with Robert. They saw a boy with glasses holding an ant farm.
“That kid is ugly.” Ronnie joked. They saw a man. He looked mean just by staring at him. Then Ronnie saw a girl. She looked about his age or Robert’s. She was holding a bag.
“Who’s she?” Ronnie asked.
“I don’t know.” Robert had been staring at her for a while. Something about her he just wanted to keep staring. Ronnie was feeling the same way. The girl had short dark hair. Her eyes were brown. She was wearing a yellow skirt. Her shirt was lacy and white with ribbons.
“Damn. She’s got tits like her mom.” Ronnie comments.
“Is that all you got on your mind?” Robert asks his brother. Ronnie walked over to the counter and picked up his beer can.
“Let’s go watch a movie.” Ronnie left the kitchen. Robert kept staring out the window. He kept staring at that girl. He watched her go inside the house next door.
“Why am I curious about her?” Robert asks himself.
