Robert was just sitting in the kitchen actually trying to do his homework. Bryan was sitting across from him and was just staring as he was eating.
“Can you leave me alone?” Robert asked getting annoyed with Bryan.
“It’s odd actually seeing you work on homework. You don’t do it all the time. Are you depressed?” Bryan asks his older brother.
“I been depressed since I turned 10.” Robert’s response was.
“You have?” Bryan was a little confused.
“Can you just get out?”
“This kitchen is for everyone, not just you. So no.” Bryan rudely responds. Robert just let out a grunt. “Hey, Robert, are you upset that Lacy is dating Craig?” Bryan just had to ask. Robert wasn’t sure how to respond to a question like that. “I know you like her.”
“I don’t like her. I don’t like anybody.” Robert said and tried to concentrate on his homework.
“Are you sure?” Bryan asked. Robert didn’t respond. He didn’t know how to and was getting annoyed just being asked about it. “I guess I’ll leave you alone.” Bryan just gets up and leaves the kitchen. He went looking for his other brother, Ronnie. Bryan went upstairs and found Ronnie in his bedroom. “What are you doing?” Bryan asked and walked over to Ronnie. Ronnie was just lying on his bed staring at the ceiling.
“Just leave me the fuck alone.” Ronnie didn’t feel like being messed with.
“Why are you and Robert in such bad moods?” Bryan didn’t understand and then it hit him. “Oh! I get it! You like Lacy too and are upset that she’s dating Craig! Am I right?” Bryan was spot on. Ronnie gets up and picked up Bryan, he then sits him out of the bedroom and then locked the door. Bryan started to bang on the door. “HEY! YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE RUDE!” Bryan then walked away from the door.
Lacy and Craig were upstairs in the attic. They both were just working on homework at the moment. “Do you think it’s weird… That I…” Lacy looks down.
“What’s weird?” Craig asked. Lacy wasn’t sure if she should ask Craig, but since they were dating, she had to ask him.
“Uh… Is it weird that I…that I…” Lacy felt nervous. She closed her eyes and just said it. “Is it weird that I slept with Robert and Ronnie?”
“Lacy, I slept with multiple girls before. I honestly don’t care.” Craig’s response was. Lacy opened her eyes and stared at him. Her face was red.
“Ever since I started dating you, it just felt funny because of what I did with those two.”
“Were you dating both of them before?” Craig asks. Lacy shook her head.
“Not really.” Was her response. “I don’t even know why I did that with them honestly.”
“It’s fine.” Craig said. Lacy looks down.
“When I am with Craig, I feel happy to be with him, but at the same time… I just miss being around Robert and Ronnie. I feel like such a stupid girl.” Lacy thought to herself. She missed when she always hung around Robert and Ronnie. She missed when they kissed and touched her. Craig was a great kisser, but he didn’t do it the way she liked. The way Robert did it was more forceful, that some reason got her attention. Ronnie did it mostly softly and a little sloppy, but she liked it. Craig’s kiss just didn’t feel right to her.
“You want to kiss?” Craig asked Lacy. The two haven’t kissed since they first kissed.
“I… I am not sure.” Lacy answered. “Maybe I can retry it and see if I was just made a mistake before.” Lacy thought to herself.
“Just a quick kiss.” Craig crawls over to Lacy on the floor and then touches her face. Craig moved his face close by Lacy’s. She closes her eyes. Her face was turning much more red. Craig presses his lips on Lacy’s.
“This still doesn’t… feel right.” Lacy thought. Craig kept kissing Lacy. He took his free hand to rub on Lacy’s arm and then brings her body close to his. Lacy’s heart was beating fast. “Robert… Ronnie…” Lacy thought to herself. Craig pushes Lacy down on the floor.
“Lacy is so cute… but… Is she really my soulmate? Does she really belong to Robert? Or Ronnie? Not me?” Craig thought to himself as he just kept kissing Lacy. She only kissed his lips back once, but after that, she just didn’t feel right.
“Robert…Ronnie…I… miss them… This just doesn’t seem right. Ronnie… Robert…” Lacy had tears coming down her face now. Craig stops kissing her.
“What’s wrong? Did I do something wrong?” Craig asked and got up. Lacy sat up and tried to dry her tears, but they kept coming. “I am so sorry, Lacy!” Craig felt guilty for making her cry even though he didn’t understand what he did wrong.
“I am the one that did wrong, not you.” Lacy answered. Craig was unsure what she meant. “Craig! I can’t do this! I know we only been dating for such a short time and I didn’t hate it, it’s just… I miss Robert and Ronnie!” Lacy admits. She couldn’t believe that she admit it to Craig. He stares at her and then smiles. Lacy was confused. Craig tries wiping Lacy’s tears away.
“I know. I knew that. I really do like you Lacy, but I don’t want to keep you in a relationship with me if you don’t want to. It’s okay.” Craig said in a calm voice. “I had my second doubts being with you. I had fun hanging with you, but at the same time I felt like something was just off.”
“You aren’t mad at me?” Lacy asked.
“No, I am not mad. But we can stay friends, right?” Craig asked. Lacy nods and then hugs Craig. He blushed a little as she hugged him and then he puts his arms around her. Returning the hug.
“You aren’t a bad boyfriend! Not at all! I just… don’t think I am ready to be in a relationship… I feel like I need to stay with Robert and Ronnie… and maybe be with one of them in the end.”
“Maybe so.” Craig said and lets Lacy go. She stares at him confused. “Go. Go to them.”
“What about you?” Lacy asked.
“I need to get back to my grandparents’ place. My dad is there and I need to talk to him.” Craig said packing his backpack and got up.
“Craig, I don’t hate you. I still care for you.” Lacy said and stood up. Craig just smiled and left out the door. Lacy followed him out. He left the house, while Lacy went to look around for Robert and Ronnie. Once Craig stepped foot outside, tears started running down his face.
“I thought I found love and that I would stop doing foolish things. I was wrong. I should’ve known that Lacy would end up with either Robert or Ronnie. It’s like no one can separate her from them.” Craig thought as he walked away from the house. Lacy happened to bumped into Bryan.
“Where’s your brothers?” She asked. Bryan stared up at her.
“Robert is in the kitchen and Ronnie is in his bedroom. Why?” Bryan asks. “I thought all you want to do now is hang with Craig.”
“Craig and I broke up, and I wanted to tell your brothers that.” Lacy said to Bryan. He was surprised to hear about that.
“You two broke up? That was quick? What happened?” Bryan asks.
“I realized I don’t love Craig.” Lacy said and walks away.
Max was sitting there as he ran away from home. He was going to see his parents. He wanted to see them badly. He was sitting outside on a bench. “I miss my mom and dad. When I met them, they were so nice. How can my grandpa not like them? How can he not like my dad? His own son.” Max just couldn’t believe it. He sighs.
“Is that you, Max?” A familiar voice said. Max looked up and saw Alana. The girl from school that he recently met. She was staring at him.
“Hey, Alana. What are you doing?” Max asks her and blushes a little. Alana sits down by him on the bench.
“I am going to see my father in the hospital.” Alana admits. “My mother isn’t too happy about it, but I love my dad and I haven’t seen him in a while. Since we all moved and such.”
“Oh, is your dad getting any better?” Max asked curiously.
“Unfortunately, no. They can’t seem to cure him.” Alana admits and looks down. She felt sad. I don’t know what to do.”
“Tell me about it, my grandpa is getting mad because he doesn’t want me near my parents. My parents want to take me back and get custody of me. I want to be with my parents, but… it didn’t hit me with the fact that if I do, I’ll end up going to a different school.”
“That’s too bad. We just met too.” Alana says and Max looks down.
“What was I thinking leaving my grandpa like that? I don’t want to lose my friends. Especially Craig, we been together for a long time. And then I just met Alana and she’s a real pretty girl.” Max felt like he didn’t know what to do now. Alana stood up.
“Well, I hope you figure out something, and I hope my dad gets better.” Alana said with a smile and walks off. Max smiles a little and then frowns.
“I got to think about this. Grandpa was upset with my dad because he fell in love and had a child at a young age, this happened to my grandpa too I think. I am just trying to figure out why my grandpa still doesn’t like my parents? It just doesn’t make sense. Maybe I’ll go see them and get answers.” Max gets up and makes his way to his parents.
Robert finished up with his homework and was putting it away. Lacy came into the kitchen. Robert pretended like he didn’t see her.
“Can I speak with you?” She asked. Robert ignored her. “Robert, I… I am not dating Craig anymore.” Hearing that made Robert look at her. “I broke up with him because… I didn’t feel right being with him. I don’t love him.”
“Love doesn’t exist.” Robert said glaring at Lacy.
“Robert, I just want to hang with you and Ronnie again, like we did before! I don’t want to be apart from the both of you! I like you both!” Lacy blushes. “D-Did I say that?” Lacy asks herself and felt embarrassed. Robert stood up and walks over to her. She stares at him and was blushing. Robert pushes her up against the wall.
“I don’t love you, you stupid bitch.” Robert rudely says. Lacy looked at him.
“I don’t care.” She responds. “I still want to be around you and Ronnie.” Robert laughed devilishly and then kisses Lacy. Lacy kisses his lips back.
“This feels more right to me. It’s wrong, but… I felt weird with Craig. When I am with Robert or Ronnie. It feels more right. I don’t know which one I’ll choose but… I don’t care right now.” Lacy thought to herself as she continued to kiss Robert.
Max made it to his parents’ apartment. He knocked on the door and his dad answered it.
“Max! What are you doing here?” Harlan, Max’s dad asked. He was surprised to see his son.
“Can I come in?” Max asked.
“Sure.” Harlan lets Max in.
