“The truth is I really don’t want to be pregnant and don’t want a child.” Lacy admits to Robert. They both were just lying on the floor next to each other.
“I understand that. Was you scared when you were pregnant that one time?”
“Yes. I was. I didn’t want to be pregnant, but… at the same time I was just going to keep it and raise it but… then I…”
“Are you still upset that you miscarried?” Robert asks her.
“Well, a part of me is upset about it, but at the same time. Deep down, deep down I just feel like I am actually… Happy to not have a child. I mean I really was upset I lost it and a part of me wanted to keep it too! But at the same time… I just felt like I didn’t want a child and so scared.”
“It’s alright. So in reality, you don’t want a child? Do you?”
“I… I don’t.” Lacy admitted. She was being truthful. There was a part of her at one point that was thinking maybe she did but when she thought about her feelings of the matter her answer was no. She didn’t want any children. In fact, she wasn’t even sure if she wanted children when she became an adult. She felt like that was something not for her. Something she didn’t want.
“For my birthday all I want is you.” Robert said and starts playing with Lacy’s hair.
“Robert… I want to stay together with you and Ronnie. Forever.” Lacy felt tired but liked laying by Robert.
The next day had come. Lacy was with Alana. They had gone to a fast food restaurant together. “Do you think Max will be okay? I am worried. He really wants to live with his parents and everything is looking good but I don’t know. Do you think everything will be okay with him?” Alana asks Lacy.
“I am sure.” Lacy eats one of her fries. “I think it will be okay.”
“So, how have you and the boys been? You all three been getting along?”
“Ronnie is angry because Robert spent time with me alone yesterday. I decided to let them work it out and come and talk to you.”
“You just don’t want to be in an argument. Do you?”Alana smiles a little. “I don’t blame you though. I don’t like fights.”
“Yeah, I think they’ll work it out. Robert and Ronnie are close.”
“That’s true. But I am surprised that they don’t argue more than they do. I would’ve thought that they would be tearing each other’s heads off over you.”
“They both sometimes do fight like right now, but not always.” Lacy took a sip of her drink.
“I guess that okay if they aren’t fighting…” Alana was sure what much to say.
Robert and Ronnie were together in their home. Brice was at work and Bryan went to hang with Madison over Max’s family’s house.
“You really want to fight with me over spending alone time with Lacy?” Robert asked Ronnie.
“I am not fighting.” Ronnie responds. “I like Lacy a lot like you do. It’s only natural for me to feel a little jealous. Aren’t you jealous when were alone?” Robert looks down.
“I…Well… yeah.” Robert admits. He and Ronnie both seemed to get jealous when one of them was alone with Lacy.
“Are you jealous when we both spend time with her?” Ronnie asks.
“I… I don’t know. I mean, there’s times where I want to be alone with Lacy and just want it to be the both of us. But… I don’t want to stir trouble between the both of us. We were always close growing up. I mean we both like Bryan and all but we can’t tell him everything.”
“That’s true.” Ronnie sat down on the bed and pulls a cigarette and lighter out to smoke.
“Lacy is very pretty. Isn’t she?” Robert smiles devilish. “I think I like everything about her. Her personality and all.”
“That’s funny.” Ronnie chuckles a little. “Coming from a guy who used to claim love didn’t exist. Lacy made you realized that love does exist?” Ronnie asks. Robert sat down and pulled a cigarette out. He took Ronnie’s lighter and lights it. He sat the lighter down and starts to smoke.
“Yeah.”
“Lacy really is something else isn’t she? I guess we both can’t do nothing but stay with her. You want to be with her as much as I do.”
“That’s exactly why we can’t fight too much. Lacy is pretty selfish for wanting the both of us.” Robert said to Ronnie. “I think I like it though. When she wants to be a little selfish.”
“She’s so fucking cute.” Ronnie laughs.
“She’s cute and hot.” Robert said and Ronnie agreed.
In the evening, Lacy let Alana come over her home for a sleepover. “Are you sure Robert and Ronnie wouldn’t want to spend the night with you?” Alana asks.
“I can’t hang around those two all the time. Even though I want to.” Lacy said and went into her bedroom. Alana followed her.
“You sure don’t like light colors.” Alana looks at Lacy’s bedroom. It was dark.
“I like it that way. I hate light colors. Especially pink.”
“I stand out in this bedroom.” Alana giggles. She was wearing mostly white and a cream color. She wore a dress that had ribbons and ruffles.
“We can watch some TV I guess.” Lacy suggested to Alana. “We can stay up late too. No school to worry about.”
“Yes, that’s true.” Alana smiles. “You got any video games?”
“Actually my dad got a game system recently. It’s in the living room. I played it sometimes but not really.” Lacy responded.
“We can play that.” Alana said. Even though Alana seemed to be a little mature for her age, she did like video games. Lacy also enjoyed playing videos sometimes.
The day seemed to have gone by quickly. At night, Robert woke up to a sound. He sat up and noticed Ronnie had dressed himself in casual clothes instead of his pajamas. He could see a little into the bedroom due to the moon shinning in the bedroom window with the curtains opened.
“What are you doing? Where are you going?” Robert asked.
“Well… I need to go somewhere.” Ronnie replied nervously.
“Have you been sneaking off in the middle of the night lately?” Robert asks.
“No! I haven’t!” Ronnie answers and left the bedroom. Robert felt suspicious of Ronnie. He wondered where could he possibly going this late at night.
‘I wonder… I never seen him actually leaving before at night… Could he have been?” Robert wondered to himself. He wasn’t even sure if Ronnie had been sneaking out. Robert decided to get up out of bed and went downstairs. When he went down there, the front door was being shut. “Should I tell dad? Follow him? Or should I mind my own business?” Robert wondered. He felt like something wasn’t right with Ronnie though. He quickly ran to get a pair of shoes and ran out the door to catch up to Ronnie.
He happened to see Ronnie walking down the street. Robert slowly followed him. “Where the hell does he think he’s going this late at night?” Robert wondered. He knew it probably was wrong to be into Ronnie’s business but he had a bad feeling. Something was off and he just felt it.
Ronnie made it to a huge house. It was a very pretty and luxury house. The house was Alana’s home. “What could he possibly doing here?” Robert wondered as he saw Ronnie go to a side door to the house. Tj answered the door. “What is he doing meeting up with him?”
“You really want to come here?” Tj asked Ronnie.
“I said I wanted to. Aren’t you going to let me in?” Ronnie asked. Tj laughed.
“Yes, yes. Come on.” Tj lets Ronnie into the house and shuts the door.
“What is going on here?” Robert felt worried about Ronnie going to Tj. Tj was known to sell weird things in school and had a brother that went to jail before. “I don’t feel comfortable with him hanging around him. I remember that bastard was trying to get Ronnie do to something bad before. He better not be trying to do that again.” Robert felt worried and angry at the same time. He couldn’t just go inside the house. He had to wait until Ronnie left the house. He really needed to confront him about this problem. The only thing sometimes that Robert and Ronnie would go to Tj before was cigarettes but not always since their dad gave them some, but this seemed different.
Ronnie was in the house and was in Tj’s bedroom. “I wonder, what changed your mind?” Tj asked.
“None of your business.” Ronnie rudely responds. “Here.” Ronnie pulled out his wallet and hands Tj some money.
“Things are going to get more rare now. My brother is facing problems with his on and off girlfriend. She’s pregnant and they just keep arguing. It’s hard to get supply.” Tj tells Ronnie.
“I am not giving you no more money. Take what I gave you.” Ronnie responds. Tj took the money.
“Really though, I don’t understand why you need this.” Tj hands Ronnie a small bag.
“You don’t understand.”
“I understand a lot of things. I hate my life. I wished I fucking died. I have an illness that’s why I try to do this to end me faster. My brother has personal issues too.”
“And your friend Kevin?”
“Kevin? He’s got issues too back at home. His dad is on it and so is his mom. He used to get them some too besides he got hooked on it. His dad is in prison now because he was caught with it besides he stole some things.” Tj explains to Ronnie about Kevin.
“My problem is… Well…” Ronnie wasn’t sure how to respond to that. “I got to go.” Ronnie left the house. When he got outside he walked and happened to see Robert.
“What are you doing here?” Robert asked Ronnie.
“Was you following me?!” Ronnie glares at Robert.
“I am worried about you! I have a bad feeling! Now what was you doing?!” Robert asks his younger brother. He looked upset with him.
“It’s none of your business!” Ronnie snaps back at Robert. He started to walk. Robert grabbed a hold of him and pulled him over and took his bag from him. “Give me back my bag!” Ronnie tries to take it but Robert wouldn’t let him have it. Ronnie pushes Robert down to the ground in attempt to get the bag back.
“Ronnie! Stop it!” Robert pushes Ronnie off of him and opened the bag. He couldn’t believe what he saw in the bag. It was drugs. He was disappointed and furious with Ronnie. “Why the hell do you have this?! Why are you doing this?!”
“You have no right to ask me that or judge me!” Ronnie snatched the bag away from Robert.
“Ronnie you need to get rid of that. When did you start? Did you just start? What’s going on?” Robert couldn’t believe what he seen Ronnie have and what he did. He gone to Tj’s home just to buy drugs off of him.
