Those Three Chapter 22
“I love Max… I want to keep my baby with him! He has a right to be angry with me, doesn’t he?!” Alana says feeling upset. “I really don’t want him to be angry with me!”
“Ugh, Max is being a big asshole! He needs to man up and take responsibility for what the hell he did! Alana, he doesn’t have a right to be angry with you, you being pregnant is much as his fault at yours.” Lacy said. Alana tried wiping her tears away. “He really is being a cold hearted asshole right now.” Lacy felt furious with Max. Alana couldn’t help but just feel sad. She hugs Lacy as she cried.
“I couldn’t imagine becoming pregnant and having a guy not wanting me or the child. I would be heartbroken.” Stephanie thought to herself as she saw Alana crying. She didn’t know what to do as she was never in that type of situation before. She never had any serious relationships. And in fact, she really never had an official relationship before. She wasn’t even sure about Ronnie and her and he was the only one that she ever slept with. It was a first for her.
Alana let’s go of Lacy and tries to dry her tears. “I need to stop crying. If Max doesn’t want to be with me, then fine! I don’t need him! I can take care of this baby on my own!” Alana said feeling like she wasn’t sure if she should stay upset or be angry with Max, but she felt like she really shouldn’t keep crying over this now.
“I can’t believe that Max really is a jerk! Man, someone really should say something to him. He just don’t knock you up and then call it quits! He needs to take responsibility too!” Lacy was angry with Max. She was trying to calm herself down. She had the urge to go to where he was and beat him up for hurting Alana’s feelings.
Stephanie closed her eyes and took a deep breath, she then looked at Alana when she opened her eyes. “Hey, don’t worry about anything. Things will be okay.” Stephanie said to Alana. She turned and looked at Stephanie. Hearing that made Alana feel a bit better.
“You think so?” Alana asks her.
“Yeah, trust me.” Stephanie smiles at her. Alana smiles a little back at her.
The rain just kept coming down. Lacy sighs. “You know, Robert has been acting so weird lately and I don’t know what it is. He told me he’s going to be busier. He said I can stay but I don’t know. Because before that he told me I can’t keep coming around here. What do you think that is all about?” Lacy asks. She wondered if Alana and Stephanie could have an idea about Robert’s weird behavior lately.
“He isn’t going to break up with you, is he?” Alana asked. “That doesn’t sound right.”
“No, Robert likes me too much. Remember? In the past?” Lacy didn’t believe that Robert wanted to break up with her.
“No, I don’t think Robert wants to break up with you.” Stephanie said. “What if he really wants to marry you? And is too nervous to purpose? Oh, that sounds cute!” Stephanie smiles and blushed. Lacy felt embarrassed. She started to wonder now if that’s what Robert was doing and if that’s what he wants to do. But she couldn’t possibly get married now. She wasn’t old enough yet and she wasn’t even sure if she was sure she wanted to be married. The thought of marriage was something that Lacy wasn’t actually obsessed with.
“Marriage? No way!” Lacy laughed it off. “Robert isn’t the type to care about marriage.”
“I would like to be a bride!” Alana said with a smile.
Ronnie had stayed home because of Robert coming over. The two were the only ones there since Bryan had gone to hang out with Craig. Brice and Amy were at work. Robert was sitting in the living room of the home with Ronnie. Smoking. Ronnie was also smoking as they both were talking and watching TV together.
“You told Lacy that you were going to work? Why did you lie to her like that? You always lie to her?” Ronnie asks and flicks ashes in the ashtray that he had sitting by him on the arm of the sofa.
“Get for real, I only lied today to her. It feels weird. I mean because you stopped talking to Lacy and me years ago when we began a real relationship. It was kinda fast if you ask me. We both were with her then bam, she just wants to be with me. Hell, we stayed together for so damn long afterwards.”
“You just want to brag about your life with her?” Ronnie asks. Robert chuckled a little.
“It was kind of childish and stupid that you really got so jealous and pissed off at our relationship that you literally stopped talking to us for a while. You over all that? I mean because it wasn’t too long ago when you tried something with Lacy.”
“Lacy was a stupid girl years ago. I guess she had a lot going on, but sleeping with the both of us and then really had to say she loved us both. Really screwing with both our hearts. And you know we both only began fighting when she came into the picture. I mean for real. Think about it. Before she came around, we never used to fight much. Then here she comes. Yeah, she went through hell of a lot with her mom’s ex-boyfriend raping her and shit. But did she really had to screw us and then go back and forth screwing both of us? Then tells us she loves us and can’t choose. I can’t believe I was a dumb shit that went through all of that back then. I should’ve just let you have her and be done with her. But I was stupid in love with her.” Ronnie smashed his cigarette in the ashtray.
“Lacy agrees she was stupid before. I mean she was young and so were we. I feel like I did a lot of dumb shit too. Lacy made me angry back then at times.”
“Did you come here just to get answers out of me? If I still love Lacy? Or have feelings for her?” Ronnie asks his older brother. He was serious now. Robert looked at Ronnie.
“I mean, if we are going to hang out like we did before, you need to tell me. Are you dating Stephanie?”
“We aren’t dating. Stephanie likes me or has a silly crush on me. I don’t even the fuck know. I mean sure I like her.” Ronnie stood up.
“But you plan on hurting her?” Robert had to ask.
“Who Stephanie?” Ronnie asks. Robert nods. “If she gets hurt, it’s her own damn fault.”
“In other words, have you been lying lately?” Robert reaches over and grabs the ashtray and smashes his cigarette in it. Putting it out.
“Look, I like Stephanie. Don’t think I don’t. We just aren’t dating. I mean I don’t consider us dating and I plan on telling her that. She will understand. And now… You, You want to talk about someone lying, you lied about going to work but you really came here to talk to me. What’s that really all about? You just want to know if I like Lacy? Because you can’t actually trust me or not? Or do you think I am lying that I am done with my feelings with her?”
“Ronnie…” Robert stood up. “I am asking because I plan on asking Lacy to marry me.” Ronnie was surprised hearing that coming from Robert.
“Marriage? I thought you didn’t believe love existed before?” Ronnie asked.
“That was in the past. When I met Lacy I fell in love with her. And regardless of what stupid shit her and I have done I want to stay by her. We been having an amazing relationship for past couple of years.”
“So, you came over to ask if I still had feelings for her because you didn’t want to hurt my feelings if you proposed to her?” Ronnie asks.
“Exactly.”
“I don’t care.” Ronnie shrugs. “I mean sure it may have seem like recently I tried to split you two up because I had this stupid jealousy grudge but I sure haven’t thought of doing that anymore. I mean in what time do I have to do that when I got Stephanie?”
“But you two aren’t dating or so you just said.” Robert was kind of confused with Ronnie.
“Look I just want to love her for who she is. I like her. And honestly I been thinking about her time to time and haven’t been giving Lacy much thought. Lacy is pretty don’t get me wrong. She did make stupid choices in her past but that doesn’t mean I hate her. In fact, I still like her a lot. She was really special to me before. Robert, if you do marry her, just take care of her.” Ronnie left the living room.
“Is it weird? In the past, because of my parents fighting and when they got divorced I thought that love didn’t exist. That it was all made up. Something people pretended to have but in reality they just lusted after each other. But then I met Lacy and she changed my feelings for love. I fell in love with her. I got so angry with her for thinking she liked both Ronnie and I but deep down she always loved me. She was scared to hurt Ronnie because she knew he liked her too so she tried so hard to ignore her feelings for me. She couldn’t do it anymore and that’s when our relationship began.” Robert began thinking about things from the past.
Lacy, Alana, and Stephanie had fun talking and spending time with each other. After two hours had passed, Stephanie and Alana had left. Lacy stayed at Robert’s apartment as she was waiting for him to get home. She didn’t expect him to come back too quick because of the way he was acting about he was going to start being busy soon. She looked out the window. The rain had stopped but it still seemed gloomy out.
“I just don’t get why he would start being busy? What could he possibly be doing? I just don’t get it.” Lacy felt unsure. She didn’t know what to think. Suddenly, she heard the door being unlocked. “He’s home? But it’s early…” Lacy thought to herself. Robert came into the doorway. She watched him shut the door and lock it.
“Why are you home early?” Lacy asked him confused.
“I didn’t go to work today.” Robert responded honestly. Lacy was surprised.
“I thought you went to work, where did you go?” Lacy asks. Robertt sighs.
“I just had to take care of something.” Robert responds. He walks over to Lacy and pulled her close to him. She blushes and looked up at him.
“Robert?”
“You’re very cute.” Robert said to her. Lacy’s face lights up more red.
“You really have to flirt right now?!” Lacy was embarrassed. Robert chuckled a little. “Why don’t you just tell me what you did today? What did you have to take care of?” Robert uses his right hand to grab Lacy’s butt. “W-What are you trying to do?!”
“Lacy, isn’t it obvious?” Robert asks her. She smiles devilishly.
“Robby baby… Why don’t you get relax for me on your bed, while I put on something more sexy?” Lacy says with a smile.
Max was sitting in his bedroom on his bed. There was a knock at the door and then the door came opened. Max’s mom, Davina came in.
“Can we talk?” Davina asks Max.
“I guess.” Max shrugs and doesn’t stare at her. She closes the door.
“Max, are you having problems with Alana?”
“Why are you asking that?” Max asked and now stares at his mom.
“Well, Louie told me. And I worry. Alana is pregnant and are you going to breakup with her? Leaving her all alone with your guys’ baby?” Davina asks.
“Look, I don’t know what I am gonna do! Having a kid wasn’t something I wanted right now!” Max yelled.
“Yeah, I know. I understand. I had you young. Way too young. I was just barely a teenager. I loved your dad but once my parents found out. They kicked me out. They didn’t care. I kept contact with my sister and brother but hey, what could they do? Your dad did everything to help me. And your grandpa hated us together. He hated me. He still does. Once you were born we were hurt to leave you with him but we had no choice. Only your grandpa wanted to take care of you. I mean your dad’s dad. My parents wanted nothing to do with me or you. They still do and it hurts. Max, it’s your decision what you want to do. I am just saying whatever you choose, I will not hate you or not want anything to do with you. But, if you breakup with Alana you are gonna have to do some help. At least pay child support for the baby.”
“I really don’t want to talk about this.” Max put his hand on his head and looked down at the floor.
“Alana really is a nice girl though. Just make sure whatever you do, it’s what you want to do.” Davina leaves the bedroom. Max gets up off his bed and walked over to his closet. He opened the closet and pulled a bag out. Opening the bag and pulling a pack of cigarettes out and a lighter. He takes one cigarette out of the pack and lights it, then smokes. He wanted to clear his thoughts.
Robert and Lacy were together on his bed. They were kissing. Lacy had put on something sexy and mostly see-through. Robert liked her wearing it. It was like a short dress that was dark purple with black lace. She wore long stockings with it that was black. She had dark purple ribbons on her stockings and her sexy lingerie that she had on. Robert liked her wearing it.
They part lips. “Lacy, you look really sexy.”
“Fuck me.” Lacy stares at him with a pleading face.
“You really want me to?” Robert teased her playfully.
“Yes! I want you.” Lacy blushes as she answered.
“Alright, baby.”
