Robert and Ronnie were helping Bryan bring his things into the house. Since Madison left camp, Bryan decided to as well. Michael stayed. He didn’t decide to come back. Robert and Ronnie were in Bryan’s bedroom while Bryan was downstairs. Brice was in the bedroom with the two brothers.
“Mason and Michael will probably not be here much longer.” Brice tells Robert and Ronnie.
“Why?” Robert asks.
“I helped my brother get a place. He’s getting an apartment not too far from here. He has a job now too.” Brice tells Robert.
“Is grandma and grandpa really angry with Mason?” Ronnie asks as he was putting Bryan’s clothes away.
“I am working my way talking to them. Trying to explain everything. Grandpa is being stubborn. Grandma is softening up.”
“I don’t understand why they would be angry with Mason. He honestly didn’t do shit.” Robert said and left the bedroom.
“Hey dad, can Lacy come over today?” Ronnie asks when he finished putting Bryan’s clothes away.
“I think that will be alright. No funny business with her.”
“Dad, Robert and I really love Lacy. We both don’t care anymore. We want to be with her.” Ronnie looks up at his dad with a straight face.
“If that is your decision. It’s a weird decision though.” Brice laughed a little. “I am not going to fight about it anymore. You and Robert… You both do your own things you know?”
“Are you sure?” Ronnie asks.
“You know better not to get in trouble with the law.” Brice left the bedroom and Ronnie did the same.
It wasn’t too long later. Lacy got off the phone with Ronnie who told her it was okay for her to come over. James came into the living room. “What?” Lacy stared at him.
“You deserve to be happy.” James said. Lacy was confused as she stared at him. “Regardless if others seem to think it’s strange or not normal. You deserve happiness.”
“What do you mean?” Lacy asks.
“I know you suffered when mother was dating Steven.”
“D-Don’t bring his name up!” Lacy glares.
“I apologize. I am sorry that I couldn’t do anything at the time.” James says. Lacy was confused with James.
“Y-You know what happened?” Lacy asks. She was surprised if he did knew. He was very young. Just about 11-years-old now.
“Go see Robert and Ronnie. They make you happy, right?” James asked. Lacy just leaves out the front door without responding. Abbilynn came into the living room.
“Lacy likes both of them still doesn’t she?” Abbilynn asks James. He nods. “I guess there isn’t much I can do. I can’t tell her who to love. Her heart chooses. I do not have control over her heart.”
“It is not normal. Not normal at all, but Lacy… She never was perfect to begin with.” James laughs a little. Abbilynn wasn’t sure what to say.
Lacy was walking outside. “James knows… he knows what that bastard did to me!” Lacy thought to herself. She felt like she wanted to cry but held it in. “I guess he didn’t know how to help, he might’ve found out when my mother did. What happened to me was so wrong! Because of that bastard… because of him!” Lacy stopped walking. She looked up at the sky. It looked like it was about to rain and Lacy didn’t even bring an umbrella.
“I don’t want to be caught in the rain. I better hurry to their house.” Lacy mumbles and ran. She ran straight to Robert’s and Ronnie’s house. When she got there she was trying to catch her breath. She heard thunder. It was about to rain soon. She quickly knocked on the door. The one to answer the door was Ronnie.
“Hey, you made it here quickly.”
“I ran because it might rain!” Lacy came into the house. Ronnie shuts the door and locks it. Lacy looked down and went upstairs. Ronnie followed her, but he felt like something was wrong. He felt like he knew that Lacy was upset. They made it to the bedroom. When they got in there, Ronnie shuts the door. Robert stared at Lacy.
“Come here, Lacy.” Robert said. He was sitting on the bed. Lacy walks over to him. “Sit on my lap.” Lacy did as he asked. She sat on his lap.
“Is something the matter, Lacy?” Ronnie asks. He had to ask. He noticed she looked upset when they were walking together to the bedroom.
“Is something wrong?” Robert asks Lacy. She stares at him. Touches his face. Robert stares back at her. Lacy presses her lips against his. Ronnie looks the other way. Lacy moves her lips from Robert’s. Lacy got off Robert’s lap and sat on the bed.
“I…I just started to remember… that…” Lacy looks down.
“What? Remember what?” Robert asks. Lacy brushes a piece of her hair from her face.
“My mom’s ex b-boyfriend.” Lacy said after taking a deep breath.
“Why are you thinking of that asshole?” Ronnie asks confused and saw down next to her.
“James was talking to me. He told me…” Lacy looks down. “He told me that he knows what Steven did to me. I think he found out when my mother did. He apologized to me that he wasn’t able to help me. He told me I deserve to be happy.”
“And your point is?” Robert asks.
“I don’t think James is angry with me if I want to be with the both of you. I know he can be annoying at times, but he doesn’t… he doesn’t care if I am with the both of you.”
“You don’t need to have your brother’s approval just to date whoever.” Ronnie laughs a little.
“I know that. James and I never really interacted with each other growing up. After dad left I mostly was upset and stuck to myself. I guess that’s why James got into studying and reading a lot. He didn’t really have much to talk to. Our mother was always trying to work hard to support the both of us.”
“Your mother is a strong woman.” Ronnie said and held Lacy’s hand.
“She dealt with my dad not being in the picture for years. It was very difficult for her. I am sure of it.” Lacy looks at Ronnie. “I feel bad for her that she had to go through a lot but I am glad that my parents are finally happy together again.”
“Your mom just has to watch out or she might get pregnant.” Robert chuckles a little. “I know what her and your dad has been doing. Probably almost every night.”
“Who could blame them, they probably missed each other so much.” Lacy laughed a little as well. “Enough of the both of them. I want to discuss this. Us.”
“What about us?” Ronnie asks.
“I want to discuss how we’re doing this.”
“Who the fuck cares.” Ronnie pushes her down on the bed. “We should be able to have you whenever the hell we want.”
“Ronnie, you can’t force her.”
“I don’t mean force. I mean if one of us wants to go out on a date with her, we should be allowed and if one wants to have some fun at least ask first if were allowed.”
“I think if I want either of you I should be allowed.” Lacy touches a piece of Robert’s hair. One of the longer pieces. “Too bad I can’t marry you both though.”
“None of us would be able to get married.” Robert said to her. “Nor should we have any children.”
“But what if I get pregnant?” Lacy asks. “Like when I…”
“Don’t even worry about it. If you do, you do. You can’t stop it. But honestly, we shouldn’t have any children.” Robert answered. “It will be better that way. I don’t think we should bring children into the picture if you want to be with the both of us.”
“You’re right. That would be wrong.” Lacy agrees with Robert.
“I don’t know, I honestly wish… I could have a baby… But I am too young.” Ronnie admits.
“Babies are a real pain! They scream, whine, and you have to change their diaper. You can’t sleep all the time. Once they cry, you have to get them!” Robert tells Ronnie.
“Yeah, I know.” Ronnie laughs a little. “I shouldn’t think about having a baby at my young age.”
“I was so scared. I was scared when I found out I was pregnant before, but… I was really ready to take care of the baby. Until I lost it…” Lacy looks down. “The baby wasn’t developing properly and the result of it… it died.”
“Don’t think too much about it.” Ronnie touches her shoulder.
“Ronnie…” Lacy stares at him. “I love you!” Lacy hugs Ronnie. He blushed. Robert glares staring at the both of them.
“I wished she would hug me and say that.” Robert thought to himself.
