Lacy wasn’t sure how to respond to her mother. “Lacy, did you or did you not?” Abbilynn asks. Lacy shuts the door behind her and was locking it.
“Mom, I don’t know why you’re asking me this like it’s big news. You know what I already did with those boys. You know what will happen if I am left alone with them, but you allowed me to spend the night.”
“Because you lied and said you wasn’t going to do that!” Lacy looks at her mother.
“I get that you’re upset. I am a bad teenager. Robert is one and so is Ronnie. We all are bad and did wrong, but never seem to learn. Even after I had that miscarriage.”
“Lacy, are you mocking me?” Abbilynn asked her daughter. Lacy shook her head.
“Mom, I am not. I am just going to tell you that I am laying off that right now. I even told Ronnie when I was hanging out with him today and then I told him to tell Robert when he gets home. Is that good enough for you?”
“I don’t know what it is? Kids these days are acting up and being nasty. Why? Is it a trend in your school?” Abbilynn asks her daughter.
“Maybe it is. I don’t give a damn about what others are doing. It just happened between me and them two. And I can’t change the past. What has been done is done. There’s no going back. I can try to stop, but that won’t change what had happened in the past. Can you build a time machine and go back in time?” Lacy asks her mother and then walks away to her bedroom.
“Why is she acting this way?” Abbilynn thought. “I feel like I messed up raising Lacy. She’s very different and not even right. She thinks she’s in love with two brothers and dresses in those clothes that I really don’t like her wearing. She just isn’t the same as she was before.” Abbilynn thought to herself. She went to her bedroom and picked up a photo of Lacy. It was Lacy when she was a young little girl. She had on a fluffy pink dress with white lace on it. She had pig tails into her hair and had ribbons.
“Lacy was such a sweet little girl before. Then… her father left and things went downhill. She was still sweet, but not as sweet and as she aged she got bitter and more bitter. And now… All she wears is those dark colors. It’s like Lacy just isn’t herself anymore. I remember when she was very young she told me that she liked the color light green and smiled at me. But now… Lacy likes dark colors. She isn’t the same anymore. Was I bad at raising her?” Abbilynn sat down on her bed. Looking at the photo of her daughter. Rick came into the bedroom.
“I had an annoying day at work. How was your day?” Rick asked his wife.
“I guess it was okay. Do you think… we… did a terrible job raising Lacy? She’s not like herself anymore. Look at this old photo of her.” Abbilynn showed the photo of young Lacy to Rick. Rick stares at the photo and sat down on the bed by Abbilynn.
“Of course Lacy isn’t like this anymore. She is growing up. And I know wearing them clothes is something inappropriate but she will wear them when she becomes an adult and makes her own choices.”
“Rick, she’s isn’t an adult yet. She is only going to be 15. 15-years-old and she already…”
“You mean she already slept with someone?” Rick asked. Abbilynn nods. “Lacy has been going through a lot of stress and I don’t want you to worry about her. Abbilynn, I think Lacy does some bad but I don’t hate her. She’s our daughter. Even if she does, we still shouldn’t dislike her or hate her for it. She’s a teenager and teenagers go through difficult times. I did when was her age.”
“You did?” Abbilynn asks.
“Sort of. Well, yeah. I was a womanizer in the past before I started to date you.” Rick admits.
“I don’t want a daughter that’s a whore.” Abbilynn tells Rick.
“Alright, I know Lacy slept with Robert and Ronnie but did she go around with other guys?” Rick asked. Abbilynn shook her head. “She thinks she’s in love with them both and naturally thought since she was in love she had to do that with them both. I am sure she will grow out of it and realize what she did was wrong and that she will just pick one of them or maybe not even one of them, Teenagers make a lot of mistakes. Don’t forget we are still making them ourselves. It’s what makes us human.”
“Rick, you know what to say at times like this. I don’t hate Lacy. I don’t. I just don’t like the things that she has been doing lately. I am hoping on her time will she come to her senses and get her feelings all sorted out.” Abbilynn said to Rick. He nods in agreement.
Robert was with Ronnie in their bedroom. “Are you sure that’s what Lacy wants?” Robert asked.
“I am sure of it. She told me about it today, and if you really love her you will respect her wishes.” Ronnie tells Robert.
“She seems complicated. She can’t decide. Why can’t she?” Robert asked. Ronnie shrugs.
“I don’t know. What can I say about it? She likes us both.”
“Do you honestly believe that?” Robert asked staring at his younger brother. Ronnie stared confused.
“Are you implying that Lacy might not really like us both the same?” Ronnie asked.
“That’s really not possible. You either love someone so much you only want to be with that person or you don’t. Don’t you get it? I don’t think Lacy really knows her true feelings. But in given time, she will know. Maybe.” Robert started to smoke.
Lacy was in her bedroom till she got a phone call from Alana. Alana was calling Lacy on her cell phone. “Max told me that he wasn’t angry with me with my decision. Are you doing alright?” Alana asked her friend.
“I am fine I guess. Alana, is it wrong for me to love Robert and Ronnie and slept with them both?” Lacy asked.
“Well… Lacy… it is wrong. And are you sure you love them both?”
“I DO!” Lacy yelled.
“I am sorry. Don’t get mad. Just think about who you really like the most. Lacy, I know you like the both of them but you can’t honestly be with the both of them. It’s not right and a lot of people will judge you for it. I am still going to be your friend but others will judge you if you are with the both of them”
“Thanks for the advice. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” Lacy sighs. “It’s too hard to choose over the both of them when they both helped me. But I did tried dating Ronnie and I missed Robert. I never actually tried just dating Robert without Ronnie in the picture. I am scared to though.”
“What are you scared of?” Alana asked.
“What if I… if I…” Lacy wasn’t sure what thoughts were running through her mind. “What if I like him more?” Lacy thought. She had to get off the phone. “I got to go.”
“Are you sure?” Alana asked.
“Yes.” Lacy hung the phone up and went back to her bedroom. When she got there, she shut the door. “NO! NO!” Lacy thought as she slid down to the floor. Her back was against the door. “Why am I thinking that?! I don’t!” Lacy started to cry. She felt bad for even having the thought occurred into her mind. “Why would I think such a thing… Ronnie…Robert… I am sorry.” Lacy mumbles.
Days seemed to have passed by quickly. Lacy’s birthday and Ronnie’s just went by quickly. Lacy hung with the both of them during them days, but she didn’t kiss any of them nor did she did anything else with them. Just hung out like they were just all friends. She wasn’t sure what to think or do. She told them that she wanted to be in a relationship with the both of them, but now she wasn’t sure if that’s what she really wanted.
It was now May. It was getting close to the end of the school year soon. At the end of May it would be the end of the school year. It was just the beginning of May. The weather just seemed to be warm and hot most of the time. It was perfect weather. Over the short amount of time, Katie and Craig officially became a couple now.
Everyone seemed to be happy. Alana was with Max. Bryan was with Madison. Katie was with Craig. Lacy wasn’t even sure who she wanted to be with but thought she was still with Robert and Ronnie. She wasn’t sure about it all though still. The Stephanie girl seemed to disappear as Robert stopped seeing her in school to ask her questions.
Robert was in his bedroom working on some homework. “Do you think honestly that Lacy likes one of us more than the other?” Ronnie asked.
“I don’t know. It was just a thought. But I find it weird that she doesn’t want to kiss us now after she said no sex.” Robert says to Ronnie.
“That does seem weird. Do you think she is trying to think of which one of us she wants to actually date?” Ronnie asked. His suggestion was actually spot on.
“I feel that may be it. I don’t understand her. She said she wanted to date us both. I guess she’s backing out now.” Robert puts his homework into his folder and puts it in his backpack. He got up off the bed. “Let’s go to Lacy and talk to her about it.”
“Are you sure?” Ronnie asked.
“Yes, let’s go.” Robert said and left the house. Ronnie followed him. They both made it to Lacy’s home. Robert knocked on the door. James answered the door.
“Greetings.” James said.
“We came to see Lacy. Can we come in?” Robert asked.
“Why certainly.” James lets them both in. “I need to go back working on an experiment. Nikki is a good test subject.” James said shutting the door and locking it once the two came into the house.
“Good. Blow him up.” Robert said and went to Lacy’s bedroom. Ronnie followed. Lacy was surprised to see them both at her door.
“What are you doing here? I thought I told you both not to come over today.” Lacy glares at them both. She was sitting on her bed.
“We need answers.” Robert shuts the door and locks it.
“Get out of my bedroom.”
“No. We need answers Lacy. Why have you been acting weird lately? No kissing? No touching? Why the hell care now?” Robert asked.
“I can take a break if I want to you asshole!” Lacy snaps at Robert and stood up.
“Lacy, Robert and I have been thinking that you are starting to think you need to choose between us. We already told you that you can have us both.” Ronnie said to her. Lacy looks the other way.
“Other people thinks it’s wrong. My mother said it to me… Then hearing about Alana talking about not wanting to do anything with Max after one night because… It’s wrong. Don’t you get it?” Lacy asked and was about to cry. “It’s not normal!”
“Who the hell cares if it isn’t normal?” Robert says staring at her. “I don’t give a damn about what others say or think and you shouldn’t either. You like us both don’t you?”
“I… People said I can’t be in love with two people.” Lacy said.
“Robert, you said so yourself. You told me that some days ago.” Ronnie said to Robert.
“It’s true. Not possible, but Lacy you aren’t like most people. And I love you and so does Ronnie. Stop stressing yourself out and just be happy.” Robert said and flicked Lacy’s forehead. Lacy glared at him.
“Shut up!” She yelled at him. Lacy looks at Robert. “D-Did you get taller? You’re taller than me now and I used to be taller.” Lacy said noticing.
“What do you think I was going to do? Stay the same height?” Robert asked. Lacy just stared at him and was blushing. She looked at Ronnie.
“You’re getting taller too.”
“Why are you changing the subject?” Ronnie asked. Lacy took a deep breath.
“Robert I love you. Ronnie I love you too. I feel like such an idiot these past days.” Lacy says and sits down on her bed.
