“Lacy? Are you there?” Robert asks. Lacy took a deep breath.
“Yes. Sorry, I haven’t been feeling good.” Lacy admits.
“Are you sick?” Robert asked.
“That is a dumb question to ask me. Just leave me the hell alone.” Lacy hangs up the phone. Robert was confused on why Lacy got rude with him on the phone.
“Is she okay?” Ronnie asks his older brother.
“I think so, but she didn’t have to be a bitch on the phone to me.” Robert said as he hung the phone up. “We need a cell phone.”
“Good luck telling dad.” Ronnie said and laughed. Lacy heard the door opened. She saw her dad came home.
“Where’s Peg and Pat?” Lacy asks.
“After Pat picked up Peg from school, they went to get their nails done.” Rick answered.
“Dad, I want to ask you something.”
“What is it?” Rick stared at his daughter.
“Why did you and mom split up? Why did you leave mom?” Lacy asked.
“I don’t have to answer that.” Rick responds. “Is that all you wanted to ask?”
“Dad, Pat is not here not Peg. Tell me now. Why did you leave my mom for this slut? You had it good and you left mom for some self absorb bimbo. Why?” Lacy asked. Rick just stares at Lacy.
“You think I really wanted to be with that whore?”
“Who you talking about?” Lacy asks.
“Pat. That whore. I don’t want to be with her. I rather be with your mom. But you think I have a choice right now?”
“Dad, what do you mean?” Lacy was confused.
“Let’s just say before I was actually more involved with your mom I was a wild teenager. It was before I realized I really loved Abbilynn. I used to have one night stands with all sorts of dumb girls.”
“What?” Lacy felt disgusted with her dad.
“I was dating your mom, but wasn’t sure if I was really in love. One of those night stand sluts I slept with was Pat. I finally realized I loved Abbilynn, your mom. I wanted to be with your mom and proposed to her. Hoping that those days of being a foolish teenager wouldn’t come back to haunt me. Your mom got pregnant with you and then some years later, James. Not too long after James was born… years ago…”
Rick was on his way home from school. “Hello, Rick.” A familiar voice said. Rick turned around and saw a woman standing behind him.
“Do I know you?” Rick asks.
“You should. I went to your high school.” Pat said to Rick.
“Oh yeah! Free Sucky Patty!” Rick laughed. She glares at him.
“You shouldn’t act so carefree! You better leave your woman and children. Or else.” Pat glares at him.
“What the hell?! I am not leaving my wife and children! I love my wife and children!” Rick glares at her. “Now if you don’t mind, I am going.”
“Well let me refresh you on something. Remember that night? When we were fooling around when you were dating Abbilynn. How about I tell her about that?”
“You have no proof? Why are you coming to me now trying to ruin my marriage?” Rick asks Pat.
“I do have proof. You forgot that night when the condom broke. You thought nothing of it. Well, I got pregnant with your daughter. Her name is ‘Peg’. She is an adorable little girl. I can’t raise her on my own and so I want you to help take care of her.”
“No way!” Rick says getting ready to go in his car.
“You have no choice. If you don’t I will get you for child support and then your secret will come out to your wife and she’ll just end up leaving you anyways. Either way it works for me, you will suffer.” Pat smiles devilishly. “If Abbilynn tries to stay with you, it will be hard if you’re paying child support.” Peg smirked about it.
“You’re a bitch. Why are you doing this? Now of all times?”
“Because, you don’t deserve to be happy. I hate seeing someone happy other than me and my daughter. What will it be? And failure to pay child support you will end up in jail. So what’s it going to be?” Rick looks down.
“Fine. Just give me two weeks.” Rick says looking down.
“Alright.” Pat wrote on a piece of paper and hands it to Rick. “That’s my address. I expect you to come. If not. I know where you live.” Pat laughed and then kissed him. She then pulled her lips away and walks off.
“Dammit!” Rick thought and got into the car. When he got home, Abbilynn was laying James in the bassinet.
“Rick! You’re home! Do you want to watch TV or something? James is asleep.” Abbilynn asks with a smile.
“No! Just leave me alone!” Rick says and went to the bathroom. Slamming the door.
Rick looks at Lacy. He paused for 30 seconds and then spoke again. “Don’t you get it? I started arguing with your mom. I was so mad, I took my anger out on her. For my stupid actions that came back to haunt me. Then Pat started to get on my nerves. Calling somehow. Knowing my number. Abbilynn started to get depressed. Pat went on saying I was over her place. It turned into a wreck. Then eventually, I left. I hurt your mom, you, and maybe James. But James was so young.” Rick looks down to the floor.
“Why don’t you just get a DNA test to see if Peg is really your daughter? She might not be if you claim that Pat was a whore and still is.”
“I have been thinking of it, but Pat refuses to let me do a DNA test. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to be here anymore. I feel like a jerk, but Abbilynn doesn’t want me back.” Rick puts his hand covering half his face.
“Mom still loves you. She tried dating, but felt so upset about it. She couldn’t really do it. She even was hoping you would come back one day. Before I came here, she was upset that you were still with Pat. She loves you. Mom really does.” Lacy tells the truth.
“You’re lying! How can she love me?!”
“Love is complicated sometimes. Dad, you need to get a DNA test done right away. Then just leave Pat. Go back to my mom. I miss mom. I fought with her sometimes but I… I really miss the family being together.” Lacy started to cry. “I can’t stand this. This isn’t right! For years I felt so sad because I missed you! Then when I am separated from mom! I can’t stand it anymore!” Lacy couldn’t stop her tears.
“Lacy, I want to fix this!” Rick went over to her and hugs her. “I can’t stand being here either. Pat takes most of my paycheck. I want out of this hell hole! I need to talk to your mother!” Rick says.
Bryan was spying on Madison and Michael still. He couldn’t stand them two together. “We just have two more problems to solve.” Madison said to Michael. “I think working with you is actually going smoothly.”
“Yes. Now let’s start the next question.” Michael tells Madison. She nods.
“He’s nice compared to Bryan. Bryan is always mean to me.” Madison thought to herself. “But he really does look a lot like Bryan. Just the different hair color. Their hair is very similar. But he’s taller than Bryan. “
“Why do you keep staring at me? Is there something on my face?” Michael asked Madison. She blushes and shook her head.
“No! It’s just you look a lot like Bryan but you act different from him. Are you the same age as him?” Madison asks.
“Bryan is actually a year older than me. I just turned 10 in December. Bryan turned 11 in January.” Michael explains. “Almost a year older. We are born the same year, but he’s born in beginning and I am born at the end.”
“That’s really odd.” Madison said amazed. “I will be 12 in June.”
“Really? I never noticed that baby girls born in June are so cute.” Michael said. Madison’s face lit up red.
“W-What?!” She felt nervous. Bryan was angry. He went right into the bedroom. He couldn’t take it anymore.
“STOP FLIRTING WITH MADISON!” Bryan snapped. Madison and Michael just stared confused.
“What?” Madison asks as she looked at Bryan. His face was red, he looked mad. He was actually jealous. He wasn’t sure why he felt these feelings but he felt like he couldn’t control them anymore.
“Flirting?” Michael asked looking up at Bryan. Bryan felt embarrassed. He quickly ran off.
“What was that all about?” Madison wondered.
“Are you dating Bryan?” Michael asks.
“No! I don’t like him! Why would I be dating him?!”
“Oh.” Michael was confused about Bryan, but could tell that Bryan seemed jealous.
“That was really weird! Let’s get back to our homework!” Madison just wanted to brush that off of her mind and not think about it.
“Bryan might have a crush on Madison. I think this will be fun.” Michael thought to himself and then flashed a smile at Madison.
Bryan went straight to his bedroom and slams the door shut. “I can’t believe him! Flirting with her like that! Stupid Michael! How can he do something like that?!” Bryan asks himself. He didn’t realize he was talking out loud. “That idiot! I hate him if he tries to date Madison!” Bryan fell to the floor. “I…I really like Madison. I do. I like her so much I don’t want anyone having her.” Bryan admits. “I tried to hide it all this time, but I really do like her. She’s so cute. She’s got spunk. I really…” Bryan blushes.
Lacy and her dad had gone to Abbilynn’s apartment. Abbilynn was confused on why Rick was there with Lacy, but surprised as well. “Why are you here?” Abbilynn glares at Rick.
“I want to stop all this! I want to make things right again!” Rick tells her.
“Too late! You left me and are still with that woman, did you forget?” Abbilynn glares at Rick.
“Just please hear me out!” Rick says. He wanted to talk to Abbilynn.
“Mom, dad told me something that I think he should tell you. Please, just hear him out.” Lacy said.
“I don’t have time for this. Rick. You left me. You cheated on me. How do you think I am supposed to feel? Just go.” Abbilynn turned away from Rick. She was looking down at the floor.
“I thought you said she still loved me. I guess that was a lie.” Rick said looking at Lacy.
“Mom…” Lacy wanted to help them. She wanted her family back together again.
